1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / <3 thrift store fabric <3 on: November 21, 2004 11:41:00 AM
this is my version of the jordy.... it's a double strapped tote big enough to hold my notebooks for class. it's my first legit sewing project.

my favorite thing about it is the fabric- funky print outside, dusky pink satin inside. i must say, it really needs some interfacing. what kind would you all recommend?

2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / a pouch, petite and useful on: November 21, 2004 11:35:21 AM
i did up this little pouch in about a half an hour using cotton (peaches and cream brand, i think) yarn.  it's all single crochet, done in the round, only going into the back loops.  the part where the leather drawstring goes through is treble crochet.

it's a little misshapen... but that's because of the goodies inside it  Wink
these projects are fun because they are quick and there are endless possibilities!
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / purple mittens on: November 05, 2004 11:22:24 AM
hello... these are my large mittens. they are somewhat boxy and oven-mitt like because i didn't use a pattern, nor do i know how to use a pattern.  they are all single crochet. i hope you like them!

forgive my dirty background in this picture... the cloth is all dirty from burnt incense!

4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / cotton stripey scarf on: October 19, 2004 06:33:22 PM
this is a recent accomplishment of mine.... it is a fall-weight scarf crocheted with lion brand cotton-ease yarn, which i think is delightful. time consuming, but oh so comfortable to wear, especially if you hate the weird way acrylic/acrylic type fibers scratch at your so-warm-its-a-little-sweaty neck.

this scarf is real nice for fall, but for the winter i think i'm going to make a chunkier, warmer scarf out of something like boucle. any ideas?
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / WIRE Q&A on: October 14, 2004 06:42:19 PM
i just received an order of 20 g 1/2 hard sterling silver wire from a company called rio grande.... basically, i'm pretty unhappy with it. it's sort of flat and ribbony.  previously i had been working with cheap craft wire from joann fabrics.  is all silver wire flat-tish? does it warrant a complaint? it's incredibly hard to work with (i want to make bead and wire jewelry, using pliers and a wigjig if i ever get one)

whats the deal.
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / my new bead + wire earrings on: October 13, 2004 04:12:15 PM
yo yo yo yo.

these are 'rough drafts' of some earrings i plan to make using sterling silver wire (which should come in the mail tomorrow! woo!!!) right now, they are done in some cheap jewelry wrie that i think is steel.  i know the pic is crappy, hopefully it shows up.

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / crocheted bikini on: March 20, 2004 05:51:04 PM
heeey!
[
i was feeling low so i decided to get craftin' and i used some yarn i had laying around to practice making a bikini. i had toyed with the idea before but i didnt think i could do it.

well, even in the old scrappy hairy yarn, it looks good! or i think so. there are rough edges that i need to smooth out because i eyed it and i had no idea what i was doing.

but anyway... where can i get the kind of string i would need to really do this with? the kinda coated, cottony kind.... also, has anyone else ever done this before? any ideas for bottoms?

i want to post a pic... but HOW?
