that costume could very easily be pirate-ized as well, or maybe you could be some kind of tavern wench?
32  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Spangle Sequins Scarf on: October 20, 2004 01:19:44 PM
k2tog?

what does this mean?
i know how to knit but i never learned abbreviations or how to follow a pattern.  Huh this is such a great looking scarf though, i've got to figure it out.

does anyone have any ideas for making a scarf similar to this using crochet?
33  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: My spawn's granny square poncho--picture fix on: October 19, 2004 06:34:22 PM
i love your spawn. so adorable. i want my own spawn! it would be extra nice if it popped out of my womb with a sweet poncho too. lol
34  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / cotton stripey scarf on: October 19, 2004 06:33:22 PM
this is a recent accomplishment of mine.... it is a fall-weight scarf crocheted with lion brand cotton-ease yarn, which i think is delightful. time consuming, but oh so comfortable to wear, especially if you hate the weird way acrylic/acrylic type fibers scratch at your so-warm-its-a-little-sweaty neck.

this scarf is real nice for fall, but for the winter i think i'm going to make a chunkier, warmer scarf out of something like boucle. any ideas?
35  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: whistle earring on: October 19, 2004 03:52:34 PM
try going to walmart/target/any toy store and looking in the party favors section. they usually have tons of little trinkets like that. maybe they'll have some other cool things to put on earrings too.
36  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / WIRE Q&A on: October 14, 2004 06:42:19 PM
i just received an order of 20 g 1/2 hard sterling silver wire from a company called rio grande.... basically, i'm pretty unhappy with it. it's sort of flat and ribbony.  previously i had been working with cheap craft wire from joann fabrics.  is all silver wire flat-tish? does it warrant a complaint? it's incredibly hard to work with (i want to make bead and wire jewelry, using pliers and a wigjig if i ever get one)

whats the deal.

yo yo yo yo.

these are 'rough drafts' of some earrings i plan to make using sterling silver wire (which should come in the mail tomorrow! woo!!!) right now, they are done in some cheap jewelry wrie that i think is steel.  i know the pic is crappy, hopefully it shows up.

i especially love the random pirate ho emerging from those generic looking blossoms. lol. lined with something waterproofy, that would be a fine makeup bag as well.
