1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Anyone know what this style of bodice is called? on: February 09, 2014 12:37:38 PM
I want to make a bodice like this, but I'm having trouble finding patterns/diys/guides.

It's Queen Alexandra if that helps.
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Faux Stained Glass-transfering image on: January 01, 2013 11:21:30 AM
I'd like to do a faux stained glass effect for an awkward window I have. It is hard to reach.
All tutorials on the net seem to be that you draw the design on a piece of glass that is laid over your sketch, and then hang it up.

I'd like to somehow draw and paint the design onto a something, then peel it off the something and stick it to the window.

Does the collective wisdom of Craftster think waxed paper would work?

PS: Didnt put in glass crafts cause everything there seemed to be real glass, not fake glass you squeeze from a bottle.
3  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Can you cut the toe off of a high heel? [Warning feet pictures] on: June 19, 2011 08:16:22 PM
So I have these cute shoes, but the toe portion is too long. I want to wear them to my grad later this week, and I'm wondering if I can somehow shorten them.

See, the toe portion is too long and pointy.
What I want to do is something like this:

What methods are good for cutting shoes?
4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Rose on: January 05, 2007 11:35:33 PM
Pattern adapted from the one at http://www.savvyseams.com/bags/flower.php

Made from a dress of my grandmothers that she swore she wore, although it was still in four pieces and the zipper wasn't attached.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Black skirt on: May 23, 2006 10:05:58 AM
I want to make this:

It looks pretty easy 'cause there's no funky seams or anything. I'm confused on how to make the back go all dramatically sweeping on the floor, though. The pattern would have to scoop out at that point, right?
Thanks.
6  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Locks on: December 14, 2005 09:30:10 AM
I have come into owning about 50 locks from a school that was shutting down. They look like this:

I'm wondering what else could be done with them other than to put them on things for 'creative embellishment'.
Any ideas?
