hello all! this is my first time posting in the food board, but not my last! i recently (as in, may) decided to switch schools and majors to pursue a career in pastry arts! i'm super excited to start baking this fall. i had a total "stranger than fiction" moment and realized how much more time i spent baking/recipe hunting than doing my homework.

anyway, this is one of my favorite pie recipes, fresh cherry pie made with bing cherries (i made 4 of them over memorial day weekend!)

for father's day, i made martha stewart's strawberry cream cake

this was delicious, but honestly, i'd double the recipe next time (and there WILL be a next time!) because the layers of the cake just weren't THICK enough, and i would have LOVED more strawberries. doubling the recipe would definitely add to the drama, i think.
