1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / My first foray into the altered arts... on: July 23, 2009 08:40:31 PM
Hi everyone!

I've been admiring all your creations and have decided to put my ridiculously extensive collection of ephemera to use. I have some vintage playing cards that are fantastic and kitschy, and I'm working on turning them into mini-collages. My plan is to make a mini-book out of them, much like some that have been featured on these boards (especially rackycoo's amazing present for her parents).
Here are my favorites so far:

Tomorrow I'll try to experiment a little more with different materials!

Thanks for looking  Grin
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Vintage Craft Projects / New "Crafts From The Past" Blog! on: January 26, 2008 08:45:31 AM
Hi all!

Just wanted to let anyone interested know that I just started a blog (in conjunction with my website) dedicated to wonderfully kitschy vintage crafts!

If anyone has any suggestions about the type of crafts they'd like to see, let me know!

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / First sewing attempt on: January 21, 2006 06:05:24 PM
Hi everyone-

I usually post on the embroidery board, but your amazing projects inspired me to try my hand at sewing.

Here is my first attempt:

I got the material for only $1.99/yd!
It's not perfect, but it will be a fun purse to wear in the summer.

Thanks for looking!
4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Kitty tote bag on: January 16, 2006 03:00:04 PM
Here is my latest project- I used the cat pattern from Jenny Hart's stitch-it kit, and lined it with fabric I got on sale. The little bag was only $1.99, so this whole thing cost less than $3 to make!
I'm working on another bag like this with a french poodle on the outside and Paris-themed fabric as lining.

5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Tote bag- need advice (IMG heavy) on: January 05, 2006 10:51:56 AM
Hello!

I just finished this bag, but I'm not sure it feels completely done.

Hehe, ignore the fluffy puppy in the first picture...

Do you guys think I should fill in the girl's face using satin stitch? Or would that possibly ruin it... Undecided

I'm cutting myself a break on this because it was my first project since March, but I could really use outside opinions!

Thanks!

6  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Newbie with pillowcase pic on: January 04, 2006 05:52:12 PM
Hi all-

I began embroidering last March, which is when I did this pillowcase. I took a long break and have recently started up again- obsessively!
I have future projects already planned: two little denim tote bags (1 with the cat pattern from the stitch it kit, and 1 with the french poodle pattern), and the biggie: portraits of my dogs embroidered onto throw pillows. I'd also like to embroider a pair of jeans I have, and maybe something for my son.
Phew!

Anyways, here is a pic of my first project:

Thanks to all of you for being such great resources!!
