I need a gift idea for my dad for Christmas, he is in his 50's likes to work out, listen to music on his ipod, and i don't know what else. i don't know what kinds of colors he likes. he likes to read magazines. my mom got him a nook color last year, but he hardly uses it. he also likes sports, we live in Milwaukee, WI and so he is a huge packer, brewer, etc. fan. he does not wear scarfs, and I already got him a hat before that he wears. I'm not sure what type of style he has, but it is not a kitschy, crafty style. I would like to make him something that he would like and actually use. I am low on funds this year and cannot afford to buy a gift so I have to make one. I can crochet, bead, do needlepoint, etc.
I made a bunch of earrings for my mother for Christmas. I was going to post it for the contest, but I forgot. I got a cookie tin and put them in it, I made one for each part of the tin. Some I made from patterns and some I did freehand. unfortunately I didn't keep track of which were from patterns. here they are all together:
here are all the earrings:
and i also made an earring holder from a frame I had laying around:

my mom was very impressed and thinks that I should start selling my jewelry. what do you think? how do you like the earrings? any constructive criticism would be apreciated
this project has a long story behind it. I found a gift book with a plain white and black voodoo doll last year that i thought would be perfect to bead on and give as a present to my mother, i didn't finish it last year, but when I was cleaning out the basement I rediscovered it and finished it in time for mothers day here it is:
