2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Holiday gift knitting on: August 23, 2006 07:40:38 AM
So what is everyone working on for gifts this year?
I am always looking for new ideas for smaller size projects for friends and family, that don't take a ton of time or yarn.
So far I am working on some scarflets w/ buttons, I found some great chunky cashmere in some pretty colors at my lys on sale making these a quick knit, Just need to find some fun buttons for them. I will post pics when I finish.

Any other ideas for gift knitting?

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Looking for pattern reccomendations for the curvy gals on: August 18, 2006 11:02:05 AM
I am a farily new knitter (2 years) and i have yet to knit myself a sweater, I have knit baby sweaters, shrug for my 6 yr old, and lots of scarves, hats, bag, etc.
I really would LOVE to knit soem things for me!
I am rather busty (D cup) and have some curves elsewhere ( I'm about a size 10) and am afraid of alot of the patterns I see that seem clingy in that area, or stretch or distort the pattern.
I don't feel confident enough to add shaping or alter a patter really, I just wouldn't know how really.
any help wth pattern suggestions for those of you like me:) photos too if you have them for sweaters, vests, whatever.
TIA
Sera

LOVE this scarf! Since it is way to late to get the target boucle. Could anyone tell me what would be comparable that comes in these colors? TIA!

On another note. I am thinking I might try this pattern also but would like to find a yarn substitution, any suggestions? I like the variegation but would like to find a yarn I can find in the US.
Thanks so much, in advance!
