12  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / do you think this ad is effective? on: July 29, 2008 03:57:13 PM
hey everybody!

i just started doing advertising for my blog (which features handmade and indie goodies). and i wanted to get some feedback on whether of not the image is inticing enough to make you want to click on it. the ad is the same image as my avatar, but you can see my ad on the left hand-side of this site (where the project wonderful ads are).

thanks in advance for looking. let me know your opinion

13  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re: paper N stitch on: July 24, 2008 10:14:04 PM
thanks for your response. the name paper and stitch was derived from art (paper) and stitch (handmade). i have decided to feature other things there as well that fit into a similar category and have explained that the best i can on my about page.

when the actually website is finished, it will feature art and handmade goods, which is where the title comes in. the blog will be reserved for all things of my interest, which is what is up now.

my fiance and i are creating a website which will promote handmade and vintage sellers and their goods, called paper N stitch. Phase I to this project is the paper N stitch blog, which is already up and running. Phase II, the actually website which will promote sellers and redirect back to their Etsy shop if viewers want to purchase will be done in just a couple of months.

Anyway, I would like to get some feedback (whether its harsh or kind) about paperNstitch so far. Let me know what you think, and feel free to submit your work/ shop through the submissions section as well if you like it.

Thank you so much everyone for your advice and thoughtful words. Sorry about my slight tantrum about no one responding...it was just not a good day for me. Anyway, great suggestions. I will be implementing your suggestions. Smiley

This happens to me every time. Whenever I post anything, no one ever comments on it.

20  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Product Opinions Needed for Vintage Shop on: January 01, 2008 08:53:31 AM
I started a vintage shop not too long ago on Etsy, and the process is slow going, which is fine. But I am wondering if my products are appealing enough and my prices reasonable enough to get people to buy.

I sell vintage fabrics and beads as well as general vintage items (shoes, purses, housewares). Opinions would be greatly appreciated. Please be honest. Sugar-coating will not help my business. Thanks.
