Soooo I'm working on the FBB and I've already frogged twice because I think I'm doing it right until I get to the 14th row...
There are nowhere NEAR 45 sts; I thought I was doing my increases right... I hhdc to a marker, and then I 2hhdc in that st, put the marker in the "inside" stitch, hhdc 5, 2 hhdc in the marker stitch and move the marker to the "inside" stitch, and hhdc to the end. Soooo this means each row should be gaining two sts, right? I just finished row 16 and I only have 35 sts.
Please, please, please help me if you think you know what's up. I feel like I'm going crazy. Am I missing something really obvoius that no one else did? This is definitely not related to the errata, and I did do a search already. Dear God HELP!
i just finished looking at every year of your life (weird!) and i have to say that this project is absolutely breathtaking. the creativity, artistry and care come together in such a unique, fun and interesting way. this is more art than craft, i would have to say. my favorite part is the use of text in the background in such a way that it could only really be read/understood by you and not by anyone else. a wonderful reminder of events and emotions in your life for years down the road when all of the little things can be forgotten. you've completely inspired me to take up a project like this of my own. definitely not in the same style- i am nowhere near your skill in stylized drawing and illustration- but in the same idea. a panel for each year of my life documenting my outsides and my insides. bravo.
i think your idea for the bag is really intriguing and your message is wonderful and effective.
however, i can totally identify with why you would NOT want to use it. from a big town or small, an event like that lives in the minds of all residents for a loooong time and i would be way too uncomfortable to carry it around in public. even though i don't live where you do, i think it's really beautiful that you would have such a strong social conscience and as a fellow human i appreciate your sensitivity an awful lot.
that is so, so, sooooo bitchin. i bet she would LOVE it. she's a professor at my school- uc santa cruz. you should def. email her a copy of that and your idea. she might even be able to help you get that displayed here somewhere. santa cruz really likes feminism =) her email can be looked up at www.ucsc.edu through "people find"
the expression you were able to capture in the face is so beautiful and well done that i can't even look away to the rest of the drawing. i try but my eyes are drawn back to the eyes and mouth of your portrait. the lips are especially well done. *high five*
i really like works on cardboard so kudos for that =) the texture works really nicely with this piece. i am curious about what will be embroidered/how you will use embroidery, but i look forward to seeing the completed piece.
wow...no songs to add, just yet, but I just had to say.... thirteen- big star or elliott smith cover Isn't that song amazing? and when I found the elliott version, I almost died. Okay, that's it!
it's seriously the cutest love song. it so captures love at any age and all of the awkward beginning of dating stages. there's something about being put back to age thirteen when we listen to that song that makes my fiancee and i sing along to each other holding hands all mushy like. i need to listen to it now <3
