1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Fingerless Gloves/Wristwarmer pattern on: December 03, 2006 05:07:36 PM
I looked on these forums to find a patter for this, but have had no luck. I want to make fingerless gloves.
It can either be a pattern that has jus two holes...a big on for fingers and one for my thumb. Or one that has a big hole for fingers, and the thumb is actually covered up to the knuckle.

for the pattern...I only have regualr knitting needles, I dont have two pointed ones or whatever they are called. I'm pretty much a beginner.

Any help is appreciated. THanks
2  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / romantic anniversary dinner on: July 15, 2006 10:07:06 AM
Two month anniersary is coming up in early August...i want to make him a special dinner to celebrate, and I'm stuck on ideas.I already asked him what his fav. food is, and he has no idea...He knows I'm making him dinner, but he doesn't know what, and has very little imput. He's not that picky when it comes to food, there is very little he doesn't eat.
I need something that cheap, and easy and doesn't take too long to make. I'm only 17, and do not have a whole lot of money, and I'm definitly not the worlds greatest cook, or in the top 200 probably.
I have everything planned out of what I'm going to do, and what I'm making him, gift wise, though when it comes to the actual meal, I'm clueless.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / extra stitches.....? on: January 16, 2006 08:47:50 PM
i taught myself how to knit using this website... http://www.theyarnco.com/instruction.php ...and then yesterday i bought knitting needles, and some yarn, and started making myself a scarf...I cast on 35 stitches, give or take a few, i didnt really care how many, as it was just sort of practice. I worked in garter stitch, knitting the whole time...after about 8 rows, I realize, the scarf is getting wider...I count the stitches and count 59. I asked my friend, and she said thats not supposed to happen, and has no idea what I did wrong.
Do anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong? Or is the website wrong? or what?
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not tell me to go to knittinghelp.com i went there, and could not load the videos...any other help is greatly appreciated.....oh, and from the sounds of it Im an english knitter....pretty sure that is...
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Capris to skirt on: January 07, 2006 09:01:34 PM
So I got a sewing machine New Years Eve. Last night Iwas home alone..it was a friday night and I decided to finish this skirt I started awhile ago. I dont have a before picture. But it was just basic capris, and the pockets were right above me knee on the outside. I was going to make it pleated but I was getting pissed at my sewing machine...so I decided on this. I made the belt loops myself. And the ribbon is a bow you put on presents that i took apart. I want to stencil something onto the back, but I'm not sure yet. Yes, I know its a mess, I didn't have tiem to cut the loose threads off, I had to go to work and my camera didnt like me today. I wanted to have the lace on both sides, but I decided to just do the one. Oh, and I messed up sewing the back, so thats why you can see the stiching, and i didnt feel like changing it, so I left it how it was.
SIDE, Better image I guess

Thanks for looking, any comments welcomed.

10  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / My version of "Mary Jane" Chucks on: December 18, 2005 02:35:54 PM
So what do you get when you add:
Old Chucks, Scissors, Duct Tape, Needle, Thread, Ribbon, a splash of creativity, a lot of boredom, and nothing to do?

Well, "mary jane" chucks, that's what.

I took this picture at like 3:30 in the afternoon today...yes, I am still in PJs. No, I haven't showered at all today, but I will in about two hours, and I'm not going anywhere, so yeah

Lemme know what you think. They aren't done yet, Im too lazy to finish them....and I don't know what I'm gonna do to them yet, I just know that they aren't done.
