11  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Refreshed duvet cover and shams on: May 05, 2010 12:43:24 PM
I had a boring khaki duvet cover from L.L. Bean and decided to freshen it up a bit with some cute fabric I got at AC Moore.

Sewing a king-sized anything was just ridiculous at my little sewing table and there was lots of cursing involved and a little bleeding from the pins.  But it's done!

I made up this pattern as I went along.  It still needs buttons on the front but I had to strike while the iron was hot and take pics of DD while she was willing!

15  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Fabric coasters from charm packs on: May 05, 2010 03:42:19 AM
I am lazy!  I bought these charm packs specifically for making coasters as a mothers' day gift.  They sewed up quickly-I used a thin flannel batting inside.  I'm not a quilter so they probably could be a little nicer but my mom will love them!

Weird-mine was perfectly true to size!  Maybe I fouled it up some how-but hey...it works!
19  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Bed sheet skirt and matching reverse applique top on: April 30, 2010 04:05:18 AM
I love it!  What did you use for the reverse applique as a stabilizer (if any)?  I want to try that technique.
