1  Category Challenges / Needlework Challenge Entries / Sinner/Saint Marilyn on: May 29, 2014 05:46:33 PM
Here is my entry into the contest.  Marilyn as a naughty but nice dancer.  My sketch is attached to show my starting idea.  Her head dress and shoes have bead-work.  The rest I used a variety of stitches to add texture and depth.  Hope you like!

Here is my first attempt at a free form beaded cuff.  I am happy with how it turned out and know more for my next project now.
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / J&T Challenge 3: Ode to Mr. Anderson on: April 03, 2011 07:55:26 AM
Being a fan of all things Wes Anderson, this necklace is inspired by some favorites of his work.  On this piece you will find:
Margot Tenenbaums glove post alteration,
a feather left by Mordecai,
a buffalo head/Indian nickle from Eli Cash,
an escaped bee from the Rushmore Beekeepers Club lead by Max Fischer,
a single leaf from Rushmore's Campus, so Max will not miss their colors in the changing fall,
a seashell brought back by Steve Zissou,
the dreamy seahorse from Life Aquatic,
and last but not least a man eating tiger found in Darjeeling Limited.

Thanks for looking!

Sorry if the pics not great.  I used a variety of stitches, beads, and a charm for her necklace.  Embroidered on re-purposed fabric.  Thanks for looking.

8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / For My Grandmother on: December 30, 2007 01:17:35 AM
My grandmother, whom I always called Nanny, passed from this world the day after Christmas. She was a very important person in my life, she had helped raise me, and I have always lived close to her.  I wanted to do a piece for her, I know she would like it.  Just thought I'd share it here too.  I am going incorporate into a quilt I am planning.

9  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Pin Up Needlepoint on: December 27, 2007 11:25:04 PM
Here is the second piece I've done. Not a great photo but the best one I could get.  The overall piece is about 10" tall.
Thanks!
