1  Re: Magknits Rainbow Socks KAL in Knitalongs by pmack17 on: December 02, 2007 09:52:58 PM
Talk about ancient history! These have been done for awhile but I guess knitting is more fun than posting!
I used Lion Brand Magic Stripes in Regatta Blue. This pattern was well-written and fun to knit.

Progress, at last! These are Lion Brand Magic Stripes in Regatta Blue Stripe. They are a bit skewed which I presume is because my knit gauge is different than my purl gauge. I'm hoping a soak, some time on a sock blocker and maybe some steam will even them out. I'm going to attempt the heel today.
The pattern is fun and well written, however if you like knitting socks because there are few purl stitches, this pattern is not for you. Half of the rows are purl rows!

Done! These took me just a week! I especially like the cable up the sides. I may incorporate that detail into future socks.

One heel complete! So far, so good. The instructions are clear and there aren't too many wraps to pick up. On to heel #2...

Progress! I changed the toe but other than that I am following the pattern. I've completed 4 repeats and I'm ready to begin the gussets which will take 3 repeats. How is everyone else doing?

Here's mine:

Look at the colors! I'm calling them Marshmallow Peep Monkey socks.

This was a fun pattern and easy to remember after the first few repeats.

Finished at last! It's so soft and comfy. The high collar keeps my neck nice and warm.

Yarn: Malabrigo merino worsted
Color: Stonechat
5 1/2 hanks for a size 40
Needles: Size 8 for sweater and size 6 for ribbing

I'm working on one based on the Woolworks instructions. It's Malabrigo worsted in the color Stonechat. Very soft and comfy!

10  Re: shaped ribbon tee (Now with Tutorial) in Knitting: Completed Projects by pmack17 on: September 12, 2006 02:31:14 PM
Here's my version:

It's a combination of several patterns: the general idea and dropped stitch neck from this Ribbon Tee, the doubled cotton fleece from Loop-d-loop's Ballet Tee and the shaping from MagKnits Picovoli.

Note to self: Top down short sleeve raglans are so quick and versatile! Must make more.
