2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Penguin and Polar bear Costumes. on: November 01, 2010 02:10:11 PM

I found this costume/snuggy/poncho online, and loved it a lot.
http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=19174424&itemdescription=true&navAction=jump&search=true&isProduct=true&parentid=SEARCH+RESULTS But I didn't have $68 , and even though I love it, not $68 much.
So crafted my own (ended up being $30 for all the fabric)

It was super simple! Fleece poncho with a hoodie=Awesome
Its really warm too, me and my hubby have been wearing it around the house. That's when we got the idea to make one for him too. I quickly sewed one up for him that day.
Hes a polar bear. The poncho is all white, and the hood has a red lining.

(Me at work showing off my costume and some cookies)

Happy Halloween
3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Ten Christmas Angels Painting on: March 19, 2010 06:20:35 PM
I have this children book called Ten Christmas Angels that my Grandma used to read to me and my cousins.
She gave each Angels one of our names, I was given the little angel who goes off with the nicest cake (Its a counting book, they all leave one by one until one angel is left).

I thought because I am about to Graduate Culinary school- Baking and Pastry Tongue I need this on my wall. And with some changes, and many mistakes. Here it is....

I was trying to go picture perfect at first, and it was really bugging me. But one day when I was working on it, I took a brake and went to go make some tea. When I came back and glanced at it I thought "Aww...Its my bakery" So I stopped going for picture perfect and just kept painting tell I was pleased with what I had done!

Heres a picture of the painting and the book so size comparison.

7  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / old oil pastels on: June 30, 2008 01:30:47 PM
I got a small jar from my mom of old, cheap, messy, broken oil pastels.

I already have a bunch of pastels that i actually use for art and stuff.

I was wondering if you can melt them like crayons or something to make new/awesome pastels?

or as anybody got any cool ideas of what I can do with them?
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: my altered t shirts 2 on: April 04, 2008 12:06:42 AM
action shot on the first shirt?
how does it fit?
does it go around the bust then "poof" out; baby doll style?
or does it go just above your pant line, and then "poof" out?

either way, very nice job.

sorry i haven't gotten to a action shoot. College just started up. But it poofs out just above my pant line. I might get some photos of my wearing these things this weekend.

Ooo those are great, I just started my hand at some altered tshirts but I am a bit unpatient when it comes to sewing for some reason so I've messed up a few time LOL

I really love the "shrug"...was that just a love sleeve shirt?

So thats what its called. *giggle*
yeah it was long sleeve shirt, but it kept riding up, so the bottom half had to go. Tongue

Some more t-shirts that I forgot to get in the last post, because they were in the wash.

Boys T-shirt into strapless top......I'm soon going to had straps to it.

Sorry for the blur. This was one of those XL t-shirts that was easily turned into my new little dress. nothing new.

and now a long sleeve, short, mini, coat...or whatever you would call it.
