this may be an obvious one but i more recently discovered the value of soaking brown rice for at least a few hours before cooking it, it will go way faster and turn out really good!
3  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Jamacian Jerk Marinade on: January 15, 2004 01:41:27 PM
I absolutely love cooking!, always vegan for me of course. this is my favorite recipe right now!

Jamaican Jerk marinade!
 2 cups chopped green onion
 1 cup apple cider vinegar
 1 cup soy sauce
 1/4 cup oil
 3 cloves of garlic, sliced
1 jalepeno pepper with seeds, sliced
 1 1/2 tsp allspice
 1 tsp nutmeg
 1 tsp cinnamon

put it all in a blender and puree!!! then you can use it on tofu, seitan, tempeh, or i used it on veggie burgers and that was great too! ( i got it from the native foods cookbook, the best cookbook right now!)

yes there are definitely people with patience to work with you! anna is really great, super nice and knows her stuff! it's near belmont shore kind of, it's on the corner of junipero and 4th street. it's near a bunch of vintage shops, and the art theatre. is that enough info?? you would take the 405 to the 7th street/22 west exit and follow it down for a while then take a left on junipero, the next street over is 4th so you run right in to it. hope to see you there!

it's not exactly the oc, but some friends and i just started a knitting workshop at portfolio coffee house in long beach. the woman who is sort of responsible is named anna and she charges 5 dollars a session, or you can just come and knit if you want to, it's really loose. i just started myself, i bought a book and the had anna help me a little, she can help you with projects you have started or whatever...oh yeah it's tuesday nights at 6:30!
