11  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: 12 Days Of Christmas Swap 2007(NEW EXTENTION: MONDAY Dec 10th) on: December 06, 2007 06:28:37 AM
*big sigh of relief for Calsters*

I was worried. Good lord, I'm such a mother, and I'm only 22! (well...23 in a week) It must be the Italian thing...I need to feed everyone too...

Christmas tree is picked out and to be delivered on Monday!! (2 five-foot women + 12 stairs to front door = hire big men to set it up)  Which means I only have to hold out through the weekend before I can open the big box from dyingtolive! Though...I did shake it...my mom looked at me accusingly as I did so, because she knows ALL about this swap from last year...

Callie: I'm sending my whole supply of warm-fuzzies your way! Stay safe, and make contact when you can!

Kish: Mr. Kishcrafts is a VERY smart man, methinks...and molto grazie for the extension Smiley

Just got home from a crappy day at work (when my boss is stressed/didn't get all her work done/her boss is coming to our store/is lazy cuz it's her last week here...or ALL of the above...she takes it out on us), to find a lovely ginormous box on my back porch courtesy of dyingtolive!

I will NOT open it until the tree comes...I will NOT...I can do it....I can do it...(I think?)

Kish, you are now my hero of the day. I was so worried I wouldn't finish that I enlisted my mother to cut some stuff out for me...

I shipped my first package yesterday! Now I just have to do pretty much ALL the work for days 1-5. The first half of day 2 is mostly done but turned into a giant pain so I have no idea how I'm going to get it to work, and I have exactly two weeks to get my grad school portfolio done and sent in, AND my boss significantly upped my hours next week without consulting me first, since it's christmas and I work retail.

So I'm kind of freaking out....but at least the first package is on its way!

I had my first unsalvageable crafting disaster today, ever. I mean completely unsalvageable. At least the supplies were very cheap....I just wish I hadn't spent 2 hours ____ing the ____ and then another 45 mins setting it all up and then 3 hours cleaning up the disaster. Oh well...back to the drawing board on this one!

Congrats to everyone who's expecting or been promoted! I am very behind with the congratulatory gestures...

The recording studio where I am an intern had their studio manager go MIA last week, so in addition to my other job and interning, I'm filling in for her...for who knows how long...I have been reduced to crafting small things on the subway going to/from work/internship! But tomorrow I have the day off from work and dont' have to be at internship until around 7pm, so it will be a giant crafting fiesta in my house! Thankfully I'm progressing steadily, and am sure I'll have it all done in time...if anyone else tries to hire me, the answer will be a resounding NO.

PS. my main p/t job is at an art museum gift shop, and most of the Christmas stuff came in yesterday...5 people took about 5 hours to unload, take inventory, and put on display everything....and more came this morning. The whole store is decorated and looks lovely, but thank God they don't start making us play Xmas CD's until the day after Thanksgiving...

Well, the Dollarama in Montreal yielded some lovely Christmas-y supplies. Oh, Dollarama, how I miss you...

And I finally managed to get a piece of Day 1 to work, so I'm feeling pretty invincible! *flexes crafty muscles*

I'm escaping to Montreal this weekend, to get out of the suburbs of Boston and visit all my friends (I finished at McGill in June and I miss Montreal so much.....). So that means no crafting this weekend, but it does mean...DOLLARAMA!!! Oh, the cheap dollar-store craft supplies that make my heart sing! And they might have christmas stuff out already, too....
