781  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / Kiln fused/recycled wine bottle glass/beaded windchimes on: August 21, 2006 08:04:21 AM
No clue what category to put this in!  LOL!  Glass? (wait, no glass category yet) <hint, hint>....beads?  Recycled stuff?  Garden stuff?  I'll start here....

This is made from a wine bottle that I cut and melted, then I strung this whole baby together with sterling bails and wire, beaded w/crystals and various beads...and added the chimes which I fused in my kiln.  IF ONLY you could hear it.  And, once again, sorry for the crap photography.

WOW!  Thank you everyone so much for all the replies!   I'm my own worst critic!  I adore those colors too,  Frogz!

I'll be attaching a silver bail and just a couple of beads to this one...it's so sparkly and pretty, it doesn't need anything more...

Sonjaboo, I replied to your post to request a glass forum.  I do mosaics, stained glass, slumping, fusing, and jewelry design.  I'd LOVE to chat w/more glass artists.  Smiley

I'm working on some super snazz windchimes right now, I'll post pics when  I get them done!

Here's something super pretty that emerged from my kiln yesterday.... I haven't attached a bail yet, but I can NOT wait to make this into a necklace.  I wish so much that pictures could do these justice..they're just stunners!

::: Standing Ovation:::

Beautiful work.

I have a child with autism.  Autism has taught me the meanings of the words:

-exhaustion, and tolerance.  Just to name a few.

This is just a gorgeous project.  I'll be making jewelry for all of my child's teachers this fall.  Just haven't quite figured out what I'm going to make yet.

JUST a beautiful piece of art.

::::Hanging head in beader SHAME::::

A friend of mine gave that bead to me.

Later, I saw it on display at Michaels.....it's a Blue Moon Bead.

Will you forgive me??? I wish I could say: "Oh, I made that in my nifty studio."

Nope.  I strung that at my kitchen table.

I was commissioned to make bridal jewelry.  I couldn't wait.  I'm thinking of something dripping in crystals and pearls...:::: salivate::::...

BUT NOOOOOOOOOO........THIS bride wanted orange and red. < sob >

This is what I came up with, and she adores it, thank goodness....

790  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Re: taking nice pictures of jewelry? on: July 21, 2006 06:28:57 AM
AMEN.  I am having THE worst time taking decent pics of my jewelry.  I'm SO jealous of the people who take such lovely pics.

My pics all just look like I laid a necklace on a piece of paper and took a pic (cuz that's what I did) lol...

OH for just a bit of photographic abilities!

I'll keep trying.

I just have a crappy little HP camera.  It has macro...but no decent zoom.  Is THAT my prob?
