1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Salad Scarf on: July 02, 2006 10:45:19 AM
This scarf reminds me of salad! yum!

It is 4 threads held together. lion homespun (green lettuce)  mercurized cotton (orange shredded carrots)  fuzzy fur stuff (also orange... more carrot?) and some funky eyelash stuff from the dollar section at Target a year ago (dk pink radishes?, lt purple cabbage or onions? and yellow bell peppers!)

i also made that HUGE bump on my stomach, but i had help (hubby!) and it had nothing to do with knitting!!
2  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / The only dumplin? on: July 02, 2006 10:38:11 AM
I had never done a sweater before, so i decided to try the lil dumplin baby sweater on page 8 of Nation. i thought it turned out really well. i learned how to increase and i got a cute blank canvas for some fancy stitching (or something) later on. My baby is negative 3/4 months, so it will be awhile before i use it! i'm starting another one with lion homespun. We don't know the sex yet, so i'm sticking with turquoise and other bright happy gender neutral colors!

if you are a beginner, this is a GREAT project besides scarves! Very easy and it gives you LOTS of confidence to do anything!
3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / memento mori... and keep heating costs down... on: February 12, 2006 04:49:08 PM
I spent today embroidering my first thing besides 7th grade cross stitch. it will be sewn into a door snake thing, so my super leaky front door will tranform into a normal ugly door. exciting.
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Kiwi and Ketchup on: February 12, 2006 04:44:21 PM
I sewed this ugly towel i found. My dad used to work in food service, so we ended up with odd 'trinkets' from vendors.
All I did was fold it in thirds and stitch around the edges. it ain't pretty, but Kiwi isn't really into looks. here's an action shot...
