I am back in the world, and always up for meetups! My new haunt is Club Jager Wed nights around the fire pit with my pup!
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Rice-hot/cold packs? on: November 11, 2008 04:03:16 PM
I'm making one in the shape of ovaries for my co-worker who is always complaining about her womb!
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: A Winter holiday spin on "Mayday baskets" -- Can a girl get a little inspo? on: November 11, 2008 04:00:03 PM
Here is my stocking stuffer solution this year:

Archie McPhees
http://www.mcphee.com/

They do a surprise bag for 23.00 or a surprise box for 40.00. My co-worker ordered the bag, and Got a BUNCH of interesting things. Usually I am wary of "suprize bags" but these lived up to the hype. my whole work place is ordering the Jumbo box and calling Christmas Shopping over.

You can also print out some of the free Rules from Cheapass games...fun, easy, awesome, and you have all the pieces you need to play already. Although you could make or include some if you wanted to get all fancy!

Otherwise, buttons, The glass epoxy magnets that were so big on here a few years ago(hell, glue anything to a magnet and call it a day!) that's what people are getting in baskets from me!
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Moustache Ornaments !!! on: November 11, 2008 03:47:58 PM
Holy crap those are hilarious!! My co-worker(who only has negative things to say about anything) wants there to be many kinds of  moustaches to look at. But he's a jerk, so don't listen to him.

Now you need to have a moustache party!
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: 2 at a time socks on: November 11, 2008 03:44:38 PM
My knitting buddy at the salon next door is knitting socks two at a time, and it seems WAY easier than the other way. also, I think one would be less apt to finish one and not the other, which is my problem with things in pairs. I'm going to try Lion's thigh high leg warmers like that. Great Job!!

slick- I have no Idea what they are going to end up being. they could be scarves, but right now they just live pinned to my bag. I think it might do a series of people I admire and make a quilt? Vestments? bag?

Any suggestions?

starting on the loom totally helped me branch out into stick knitting...mostly because it was more compact! Looks nice!
9  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Autumn Thigh-highs Anyone? on: November 07, 2008 12:43:28 PM
That  sounds so much easier than looking at all the weird abbreviations!

I have never knit in the round, because it seems tricky(and I like the big long sticks...seems more...Knitty...somehow) but then again, I just started, so what do I know?

Going this afternoon to try to find the right weight of yarn!

So is it just a knit-purl except for the ribbing?

I thought it was knit on the round, which I dont know how to do...But it doesn't look TOO daunting...? Truth is, I just can't read the patterns, and they look so scary...Help?

Lookin' good pink lightning!
