1  U.K. AND IRELAND / IRELAND / ire (Ireland)? on: December 28, 2005 10:06:18 AM
anyone else from smelly auld here?

Well for those who are from here or who have been here you'll know we have charity shops (2nd hand) all over the place. So were lucky in that respect. Sadly one of our best Fabric stores (Trimmings) has been closed down and turned into a scummy Centra (like 7/11 to Americans).

I cant be the only one on here Smiley
2  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Bought but to scared to use on: December 20, 2005 07:56:17 AM
I never knew that SS had its own little forum  Grin deadly.

I've purchased Pinups and Panthers , Pirates Ahoy and Country Cool months ago from RED INK books in Dublin, ire http://biblioactivedublin.org/

and well....as sad as it sounds Im to scared to use them just yet incase I fuck them up. Ive never  embroidered in my life but I promise I will give it a shot as soon as I find something worthwhile to put these amazing designs on (Pirates Ahoy being my favourite so far).

whats the point in this post? who knows, not me. I guess I'll use this post to say thanx to Jenny for giving a nerd like me something to ponder over and then eventually do.

Cheers,
Katie
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Help/Advice on everything needed! on: December 07, 2005 12:30:08 PM
Ok heres the deal I'm getting married on June 21st of next year, what have i got planned? nothing.
My boyfriend is from the Forth Worth area (Texas for non-americans) and me I'm from Dublin, ire. We've decided to get married next year because neither of us can afford to fly back and forth anymore (both of us are still living at home and not from wealthy backgrounds).
The wedding will be in Texas, were gonna hit up our favourite Veggie restaurant and around 12 people will be there thats all i know so far.
Id like to consider myself creative, the same goes for my fiancee, but I've drawn a blank as for wedding idea's go. I guess the problem is I've too many ideas and it's all abit overwhelming.
I'm not into the whole traditional white dress christian wedding, never have been, so my main objective is to make this event FUN!

We are both a part of the D.I.Y punk scene (note the D.I.Y not MTV "punk") so being conventional is not something were interested in being. I even thought of having a Pirate wedding then it warped into a zombie wedding....so you see where I'm going with this Smiley

I know I'm ranting now but what I'm asking is any tips or idea's would be appreciated.
Go raibh mle maith agat!

Katie
