1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / How to wrap diaper wreaths? on: August 30, 2009 06:59:48 PM
Hi Everyone,
I love the diaper wreaths I've been seeing on here and other places.  My friend is having twins, so I decided to make her 2 diaper wreaths for her upcoming baby shower, one pink and one blue (she's having 1 boy and 1 girl, natch Cheesy).

My question is, how do I "wrap" them?  Do I just bring them into the shower as-is, or find a HUGE gift bag, or what?  For all of the tutorials and photos of diaper wreaths I've seen, I've never seen a way to present or wrap them.

Any suggestions are appreciated!  Thanks!  Grin

2  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Oreo Balls and Candy Sushi--make ahead? on: July 06, 2009 08:48:09 AM
Note: I posted this in the dessert board yesterday, then realized that this board is really the right place for questions like this.  Sorry for the confusion/inconvenience, and thanks for any help!

Hi there!
I'm planning a bridal shower for this upcoming Saturday for my best friend, and will be serving a bunch of different desserts, rather than a full meal (it's in the mid-afternoon).  Anyway, 2 things I for sure want to make are Oreo balls (the bride loves chocolate and cream cheese, but not chocolate cake) and candy sushi (the bride's favorite food is sushi).  I'll also be making some cupcakes, fruit salad, etc on the day of the shower, so I want to be able to make the balls and sushi ahead of time.  Is this possible?  How far ahead can I make both (1 day? 2 days?)  The sushi will be similar to what we've seen around here before, with rice crispie treats, fruit roll-ups, swedish fish, etc.

Thanks in advance for your help, hopefully this can save me a little craziness the day of the shower!

4  UNITED STATES / Minnesota / Handmaidens and No Coast? on: June 20, 2009 09:12:57 AM
Hi Fellow MN Craftsters!
I have a question regarding upcoming craft fairs--specifically, the No Coast Craft-O-Rama and also the Handmaiden shows they have periodically at the VFW.  I can't find info about applying for either.  I realize that No Coast isn't until December, so maybe the applications aren't out yet, but what about the Handmaiden shows?  Every website I find about either show has not been updated since 2008.  What's the deal?  Any info to share?

Thanks!
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / bible/prayer book bouquet on: January 10, 2006 11:45:11 AM
I'm looking up and down for a picture of a bible/prayer book bouquet, ala Gwen Stefani.  Can anyone help me out?  I'm trying to decide between a more traditional bouquet or one with a small bible and cascading flowers, so I'm looking for pictures.  Thanks a ton!
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Wedding in 6 months? Am I insane? on: November 18, 2005 08:53:57 AM
Hello,
So my boyfriend and I have decided to get married...just no engagement yet.  Anyway, we think we want to get married in late May/early June 2006...so if we got engaged RIGHT NOW we'd have about 6-7 months to plan.  Is this insane?  I'm a junior in college, he's working full time.  Also, we don't really want to get married in a church (we're both very religious and spiritual, but because of differences if our family's views...we want to avoid it).  Do you think it would be possible to find a venue for the ceremony AND reception in 6 months?  If needed (and cheaper) we would go with a church.
Anyway, I guess my question is, has anyone here had to plan a wedding on a short time frame?  And how much did you end up spending?  I plan on doing a lot of decorations, invitations, etc myself.  Thanks so much!
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / bored indoor cat driving us nuts! on: September 21, 2005 08:00:18 AM
Hi, we've had our new cat, Banana, for about 3 weeks, and recently she's been doing anything and everything to get attention in the middle of the night.  We live in an apartment, and she's declawed so she's indoor-only.  I know she's just bored, and we play with her during the day, but what else can we do??  She will hop up on the windowsil and play with the blinds, meow to no end, and if we close the bedroom door she'll sit outside it and paw at it and meow for hours.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!  thank you!
8  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / lip balm flavor from Magestic Mountain Sage on: June 26, 2005 05:23:10 PM
Hey, I just ordered a lip balm base and 2 flavors from magestic mountain sage (www.thesage.com) and now that  I'm looking around Craftster, I'm wondering if I'll need a sweetener?  They don't mention anything about it on the site, (not even in the recipes section) so I almost assume they're pre-sweetened?  Does anyone have any experience with these products or at least an educated guess?  Thanks a ton!
9  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / any ideas for blank walls? on: May 21, 2005 08:11:04 PM
Hi. i just moved to a new apartment, and i have a TON of wall space to cover. i'm used to living with my parents and only having one bedroom to cover, so i have 3 paintings to put up, but i need some ideas to cover lots of wall space without painting or wallpapering, since i'm just renting. i'd appreciate any advice anyone has.

10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / martini glass gifts? on: January 25, 2005 01:45:19 PM
Hey...for some reason i got the idea to put my boyfriend's valentine's gift in martini glasses....at first i was going to just make candles out of them (pour the wax or gel wax into the glasses etc) but living where i do, i cant find candle making supplies.
so my question is...what else would go well in a few martini glasses? he doesnt have a big sweet tooth, which makes things harder (it would be so easy to go the candy route!) also, i have a limited budget, but any ideas will be greatly appreciated! thanks a lot!  Smiley
