81  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / martini glass gifts? on: January 25, 2005 01:45:19 PM
Hey...for some reason i got the idea to put my boyfriend's valentine's gift in martini glasses....at first i was going to just make candles out of them (pour the wax or gel wax into the glasses etc) but living where i do, i cant find candle making supplies.
so my question is...what else would go well in a few martini glasses? he doesnt have a big sweet tooth, which makes things harder (it would be so easy to go the candy route!) also, i have a limited budget, but any ideas will be greatly appreciated! thanks a lot!  Smiley
82  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re:Peekaboo Zipper Pillow w/ fabric insets ... photos & tutorial on: May 04, 2004 02:57:45 PM
Hey-I LOVE this pillow, and I want to make one this summer for my dorm room next year.  I'm concerned about one thing though-when I sew the front zipper panel to the back fabric, does the machine just sew over the zipper easily?  It seems like it would break the needle or something, but maybe I'm just very inexeperienced at sewing...wait, I know I am  Smiley.  Thanks to anyone who can help me!
83  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re:decoupage tissue paper? on: March 30, 2004 08:27:51 PM
Well my idea (I'm not really sure if this will even work at all so we'll see) is to put kind of a collage of pics of my boyfriend and I on the cover of a photo album then put a layer of red tissue paper over it, so you can see through it.  If it bleeds, I may have to figure out something different-maybe putting the red down first? I really like how the red over top looks when I just lay it down though Sad.

Thanks for the info guys! I am a little concerned because the tissue paper I want to use is red...i don't want it to bleed...hmmm.  Maybe I'll just have to try it out and see! Thanks again!

Hey-can anyone tell me if decoupaging tissue paper works?  If so, what products should I use? thanks for any advice!  Grin

Hey everyone...I'm in the process of making a recipe book for my boyfriend out of recipe cards and a photo album...I have all the recipes down and in the album, I'm just stumped as to what to decorate it with!  I dont have lots of pics of us, although I could scan and print a few, maybe.  Any other ideas?  Preferably food-related.  Thanks a ton!

Hey-this is my first post so bear with me.  I just had a great idea to make a recipe book for my boyfriend for our anniversary-we like to cook together and have compiled a few recipes in a folder but i want to put recipe cards into a photo album with clear pages so he can add more easily etc.  my question is, what are some good EASY recipe sites?  neither of us are great cooks, both beginners, and i want to find recipes he'll actually use.  Thanks folks!  Grin
