1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: cat lovers swap on: October 29, 2009 04:24:50 PM
I may be interested as well!  I've never been in a swap with that many points, but I think I'm up for the challenge.  Also, with the holidays soon, extra crafting time is always appreciated! Smiley

I only have one lonely kitty (OK, not lonely, she doesn't get along with other kitties) but I'm sure she would love to get spoiled with some crafty loveliness  Grin

Hope everything's ok, guineverefree

I love that triangle bag and also the monarch embroidery.  Such talent!

That bag looks great!  Man, I need to learn to crochet  Cheesy  (Side note: am I the only one who accidentally types crotch instead of crochet every time!? lol)

I got my package from guineverefree...holy crap!  My jaw dropped open when I opened the package and I'm still grinning from ear to ear (which I've really needed lately!)  Prepare to drool...

First, a teaser pic of my cat checking out the box and treasure inside (pretty sure she wanted to keep it for herself...too bad Banana, it's mine!)

OK, onto the good stuff...check out this hooded scarf!  I had a similar one in my wists, but this one is WAY better!  I adore the colors, and look at all the patterns!

Yeah, I know you're jealous  Grin  Here are some more pics of all the different patterns she used...

Argyle!

Stars!  Checkerboard!

Stripes!  Other amazing patterns I don't know the name of (in the note she listed all the different stiches she used...I count 15 different stiches between the knit and crochet!  WOW!)

Finally, the action shot (I couldn't wait for my husband to get home to take a pic for me, or apparently even to put on makeup  Cheesy

It fits perfectly!  THANK YOU SO MUCH guineverefree!  You're an awesome partner and organizer!

I love the dog art. It looked so good! Does she do personal craft swaps??? Does she have an etsy store???

Haha, no, she doesn't get online much.  I keep telling her she should start an etsy store, but she seems to think it would be way too complicated etc.  She does do local art fairs and such, and even had a painting accepted by the national watercolor society (or something like that  Cheesy)

Here's a link to some of her other work http://www.mnartists.org/artistHome.do?rid=5603  (hope that doesn't break any rules!)

Hey decaf was the cupcake cards handmade? What about the little dog card? Did you paint that? I love the mushroom pin holder! I think I am going to put it on my top 12 things made by other people. Maybe I can get someone to make me one  Grin

Aww thanks, I'm glad you like them!  Yes, I made the cupcake cards (they are a linocut print).  The dog card is a painting by my mom, she does watercolor Smiley

So glad you like everything!  After a while I started to hate everything sitting on my dining room table, but after having some time away and seeing it again, I'm happy with it too Smiley

Very cool stuff so far!
I agree!  What a good idea to make a tote out of tshirts!  And the wall hanging is beautiful.  I can't wait for my package to make it to my partner!
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Re: How to wrap diaper wreaths? on: September 14, 2009 07:52:02 PM
Thanks everyone Smiley  The shower was this past weekend, and I ended up stacking the 2 wreaths and wrapping several layers of tissue paper around, to make a funny puffy doughnut  Grin  But it looked fine in the end, and the soon-to-be-mom loved it!

I started outside my comfort zone and then fell in love with it. If decaf doesn't like it, I want it back.  Cheesy I'm going to make another one for me!

That's not likely to happen...sorry!  Grin

I mailed today!  I had to use priority shipping due to the weight of the package, so hopefully it makes it to guineverefree quickly!
