Anyone out there know about copyright rules with regards to vintage patterns? I have recently inherited a couple of patterns from my gramma's collection and would love to share, but I am not sure if I can reproduce them...? anyone have a link or other info? Thanks!
72  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Keep your balls in order on: December 28, 2005 02:43:48 PM
Cheesy Now that I have your attention!!! hahaha, anyway, do you all need a tip on keeping the dog hairs and grass out of your projects or keeping your balls from getting tangled just as you get going? Something my mom always did was put her yarn into old school style water bottles, the kind that has a straw off the top, throw away the straw and thread the yarn through the top, then put your yarn in the bottle part and put the lid on. It keeps your yarn all pretty and they keep everything nice in your yarn bag too!!! Hope someone can use this random information!!! Happy Hooking!!!
73  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Basic Catherine wheel pattern, just love it! on: December 13, 2005 02:30:18 PM
Ok so I just typed this up and since I took the time to do it for the icecream cozie pattern in finished projects I thought I would share it here too ... Grin
This is the basic Catherine wheel... I LOVE the way this looks in a blanket or scarf, there are two variations of this using either one or two alternate colors and the effect is awesome, you really see the "wheels" when you add another color... anyone want the variations, I'll add those notes, hope you can use this!!!

74  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Casting Resin-large project revisited on: December 09, 2005 07:32:02 PM
OK, so I know someone has already posted this question earlier in the year, but I am hoping to catch some new fish...
Has anyone had any experience, or know anyone with the experience of casting large projects? I have done a ton of research... and there's not a lot of people out there with "tip's"... the websites that sell the resin are very technical in using the product safely but not much else in technique. I know that casting resin gets really cloudy if you are not experienced, and I sure would hate to waste all my cool beach glass (making a beach glass counter top for bathroom vanity) "practicing"... anyone with info would be a God send!!!
Happy crafting!!!
75  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Icecream Pint Sleeve (cozy) *** now with quasi-pattern!!!*** on: December 06, 2005 09:32:05 PM
Hey I'm a newbie, to Craftster and to bulletin boards... but I have been crocheting since I was 4... Hope you enjoy this quick little project, I made this Icecream sleeve for my Ben and Jerry's with some old yarn I had around and have had lots of requests from friends...I'd be happy to share the process if interested (haven't ever written a pattern but willing to try)...
