2121  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: What's the dif? (another dumb question) on: December 07, 2005 11:41:12 AM
Yea, spirals have their place, but don't forget, if you want to change colors, it will definately be obvious where you did it!, and it is also tricky to finish the spiral... you can make some cool spiral patterns tho...
2122  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Moms or people who know about babies... on: December 07, 2005 11:33:13 AM
Ok, I have two babies, and my suggestion is that you could buy the bottles for your friend and make the pockets according to those bottles (also you could pick up a couple at your local thrift store and redonate when you're done)... you could just sew in a piece of elastic (or weave the elastic into your pocket) so any circumfrence bottle could work. I think Two bottle pockets are suffiecient, and I love the idea of having a pocket to stand diapers upright (if using disposables). If you made a super slender long tube like pocket, she could stuff extra baggies in it for any messes (diapers, bibs, clothes). You could even make a custom  pocket to fit a custom container where she could put formula, or snacks, or wipes... ooo and a break away for a quick trip or mommies cash... OMG! I need to make one for ME!!!!!!
Good luck!!!
2123  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Reading patterns: what does "don't join rounds" mean? on: December 07, 2005 11:22:08 AM
Hey Fluffy Monkey~
Good tip on decreasing the single crochet (or any for that matter) too many people just skip a stitch rather than grabbing it, and the next one to decrease! I hope all "green" crochet-ers can understand this little tip, it makes a much better end project (no weird holes)!!! Cheesy
2124  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Stripey Cute Beanie and Scarf Set on: December 06, 2005 09:44:49 PM
Very cute! Your beanie looks great! You have a nice consistent stitch too!
2125  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Icecream Pint Sleeve (cozy) *** now with quasi-pattern!!!*** on: December 06, 2005 09:32:05 PM
Hey I'm a newbie, to Craftster and to bulletin boards... but I have been crocheting since I was 4... Hope you enjoy this quick little project, I made this Icecream sleeve for my Ben and Jerry's with some old yarn I had around and have had lots of requests from friends...I'd be happy to share the process if interested (haven't ever written a pattern but willing to try)...
