24  Re: Need ideas for redoing this retro shirt in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by xveganettex on: March 30, 2006 12:21:09 PM
you could make a skirt out of it...just cut off the top part where the sleeves are straightacross and add some elastic...  Smiley ..if its too small you could add material to the sides you could also add a waist band to it

25  Re: My chucks are better than yours (CAMWHORE) in Shoes: Completed Projects by xveganettex on: March 21, 2006 07:26:57 PM
those are awesome, i'm a color whore.

annnnnnd i'm not trying to be preachy or condescending, but i noticed on a similar discussion on another messageboard that a lot of people were unaware that Nike now owns converse.  they bought out converse in 2003.  so converse=sweatshops.  which also explains the price bump.

for a sweatshop free alternative, try
http://nosweatapparel.com/
or
http://adbusters.org/metas/corpo/blackspotshoes/

right now, No Sweat has some of their mock chucks on sale.  i picked up a pink pair for like $23.

ooooooh i know! it sucks soooo bad..i love my converse...theyre like 3-4 years old i think lol

your converse are pretty!

29  i need hugs! pillow in Stenciling: Completed Projects by xveganettex on: January 03, 2006 11:44:42 AM
my pillow was looking real boring ...so i found this cute stencil here : http://72.29.83.164/~stencil/stencils.htm
and decided to make my pillow  not so boring...its not the best stenciling, i had to cut it out with scissors and it took forever  and  i had to trace it off the computer onto some decal printing paper because i dont have any ink in the printer Tongue  but it works pretty well considering one side is sticky so the edges stick down pretty well.

i used acrylic and textile medium  and glitter  Grin

(the dots are glitter)

30  suitcase upholstery help! in Discussion and Questions by xveganettex on: December 31, 2005 07:07:20 AM
so ive had this old suitcase for awhile..and after looking around at other posts on here i decided i want to re upholster it...because the inside llooks...old and wore out...

as you can see my cat likes it just the way it is...hehe
leaving me with great ideas for a suitcase cat bed  Grin
but anyways i have a few questions? how do i get around these bolt type things? is there a way to get them off?...or do i just exacto knife the material around it? and how do i get it not to fray then? and whats the best method to get the material to stick?staples?glue?

thanks you all! sorry if this post is in the wrong area! i wasnt sure where to post this  Tongue
