Hello!


I am quite new to sewing and have just got my very first sewing machine.  I have done a few pieces on it but have noticed that after i put some wadding in a project i was doing, the next time i went to sew on a different piece of material, the bottom stitching was very lose and sometimes got caught up in the fabric.

Do i need to change tension on my machine when i change material depth (i.e. if sewing with thicker material)?

How do i stop the bottom stitch from being loose and not stitching properly?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi - i've just bought some lovely jazz tweed and want to make a suit with pencil skirt (ideally) and jacket but am having trouble finding any patterns - can anyone help?

Also - is there any particular setting i will need to use on light tweed or can i just get sewing?

I've started hunting around for tiara's and i don't know about the USA, but in the UK they seem to be incredibly expensive!    I've seen a few I like, but to be honest, they don't look all that hard to make.  I've never done any wire-related jewellrey making though - how hard is it to make a tiara?

I know where I can get the head band, wire and beads from, it's just the putting together that i'm a bit nervous about.  I've seena  few tutorials on here, but nothing that quite matches what I am trying to achieve.  Does anyone have any links or books they can recommend me to get me going, please?

I'm thinking of trying to make one similar to these below. 

My fiance and I are getting married September 2006 and I am wanting to find creative ways to decorate the tables for our sit down meal that is inexpensive but wil look terrific.  Neither of us are wealthy and the cost of flowers to decorate 10-12 tables is astronomical!  The reception itself is stretching our finances, so any ideas on making centre pieces that won't cost the earth but will dazzle the guests would be very much appreciated.
