Will there be another swap of this type in the future?

This is amazing.  I love Christian.  During the prom dress epi, I nearly broke my ribs laughing when he said "I am NOT feeling fierce."

You should send him a photo!

4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Altoid tin theme swap Round 2 Gallery. on: August 04, 2006 12:54:44 PM
I have been swamped with moving and packing for my work detail, so I haven't gotten to comment on each tin.  I am amazed at the talent and creativity!  I loved the turtle and the cherry blossoms.  The beach themes have been well done.  And my friend Joy nearly had a heart attack when she saw the swing dance tin.  All of the tins have been so RAD.   I have really enjoyed this swap!  I might not make the next round, but when I get back from Mammoth Cave I will definitely be looking for a round 4.  Thanks for a great swap!

Talk at you when I get back from Kentucky! Yeeeeeeeeeehaw!

<posted this in the other thread too>

Just to let everyone know, tonight I am taking down my computer for the move and won't be online again until I arrive in Kentucky. I also checked my mail today and no postcards.  If they are flying through the mail right now -- they may have been directed to my new apartment.  IF so, I will comment on them when I get to Mammoth Cave.

I have a favor to ask, so that all my partners get to show off their creations.  I still haven't received from goat goddess or starpiste.  If y'all have sent already, could y'all post your postcards for me?  I want to make sure that I don't cross the postcards path.  If you are sending to my Mammoth Cave address, no worries.  When I get them I will post 'em.

I wanted to compliment everyone on this swap!  The random strangeness has made my day.  I can't wait for another round!  Y'all are truly talented.

As always, thanks to goatgoddess for organizing!

Hey girls!  Thanks for the replies!!!  I just wanted to let you know that there is a crafters group for this area (just getting started)!!  Here is the link to the yahoo group!

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/silverspringcrafters/

It's called Silverspring Crafters!  I live out in Fairfax, VA -- but I am going to participate!

I will be out of town most of August, so I will not get to go to the first meet up, but I will be there in September!  Yay for crafty people!   I will PM this info to both of you -- just wanted to put it on the board in case someone stops by this thread.

Thanks-

Jamie

A quick link to a general summary about Dada:

Perhaps the first punk movement?

Anyways, enough off topic -- just thought I would share.

I got one from JamieMarieBlue yesterday.  Grin Buddhist monk, mustachioed Mona Lisa, a pugilist, and "Big Fat Delicious"... very weird indeed!  Wink I feel like it's some sort of strange puzzle... like there's a hidden secret message. Thank you very much!

p.s. good luck with the move!

Thanks for the luck wishes on moving!  I am needing them!

I liked making that card a lot -- I thought all of the images were pretty neato.  There maybe be hidden puzzle of my subconscious there, but I am not sure what the answer is Smiley  The only conscious attempt at a message was the Mona Lisa.  The mustachioed Mona Lisa is an actual painting from an art movement called "Dada."  There was a "Dada" exhibit at the National Gallery of Art this summer.  I went and it was amazing. Dada art has a lot of collage, absurd themes (all with deep political or poetic meanings)and seemingly random collections of object etc. ect.  I thought it was a MUST to include old Mona in this swap somewhere.   They had Mona  promo cards all over the city Smiley  Love random paper!!!  If you like weird absurd type art -- much like we are creating with this swap -- you should definitely check out Dada!
