bad news my friends! the plastic from the top compartment ripped away. i don't know if its just a bad one i bought or if this isn't the proper way to hang it. i need to experiment.

i got it at linens n things but i'm sure you could find it at any type of store with a storage section. its for sweaters!

the swag hooks and chain i found in the garden department at walmart. they had chains and hooks in the hardware department but it was way longer than i needed and more expensive.

as my business is taking off on etsy i'm collecting more and more yarn and odds and ends of yarn. i was sick of my room being cluttered with huge ugly bags. with a little brainstorming with my mom we came up with this:

its sweater storage to hang in the closet. originally i was on the hunt for a shoe rack but this was more spacious. i have the tiniest room known to man and this was definitely not going to fit in my closet. plus i wanted to display it nicely. so we cut pvc pipe to fit through the top, hung two hooks, and strung the chain between them.

storage: $16
hooks: $2
chain: $2

$20 total! once i got home and started to fill it i realized i could use another haha.

7  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Need help With Bday present on: October 06, 2007 03:09:38 PM
how about a granny square afghan? making a lap one wouldn't take long. i think blankets are the best presents. they are useful and made with love!
8  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knitting VS. Crochet on: October 06, 2007 03:07:58 PM
i like both and can't choose one of the other. i like crocheting because it goes so fast. it also just depends on the project. i'd much rather knit mittens but would rather crochet a hat.

i also like to combine both in projects. makes it more fun.
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Swap knitting lessons for sewing lessons? on: October 06, 2007 03:04:09 PM
i second the knittinghelp.com

thats where i learned to knit. i'm a visual learner so it was very helpful.

also look for local yarn stores in your area. they usually offer lessons for cheap! ours around here is like 10 bucks for the beginner class and then they get more advanced till you learn almost all you need to know.
