3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / Re: Iron-on ink---not transfer paper on: May 17, 2009 12:35:45 AM
thank goodness for this thread!  i am getting ready to transfer a very intricate pattern to be embroidered and i thought i would go crazy if i had to trace the whole thing by hand.

also this might help not sure though

i am going to try this with ink jet prints and i will let you know what happens.

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Urgent! Wedding is in four hours! on: May 21, 2006 01:04:31 PM
The bride and I are not very close. I wouldn't recognize the groom in a line up. (I know the first two facts have no bearing on the answer) Her wedding is in a park. May I bring my knitting (probably the blue lace scarf, perhaps a purple sachet) and work quietly at it before the procession begins if I find myself bereft of conversation?

We are already bringing the gift to the reception, which makes my skin crawl.  I would rather not commit two faux pas in one evening.

i don't think it matters how close you are, you can't knit during the wedding.  most ceremonies are under a half an hour anyway so what's the biggie?  sure it's probably gonna be boring but you just gotta suck it up.

also- it's not a faux pas to bring the gift to the reception.  that's how most people are doing it these days.  you'll probably see a big table of them when you get there.
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: ice cream baby hat on: May 20, 2006 02:30:03 PM
What about the twist effect? Huh

if you use stitch markers and always decrease either right before or right after, you will automatically get that twist when knitting in the round.
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / sizing charts? on: April 06, 2006 11:21:39 PM
i was wondering if anyone knows of a site (or book) that gives standard measurements for sizes.  right now i am specifically looking for baby bootie size measurements but eventually i know i'd need measurements for other things.
thanks!
