52  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: how di you guys get into knitting? how did you learn? im havin trouble on: December 05, 2005 09:47:25 PM
My granny taught me how to crochet when I was younger, but I really wanted to learn to knit. I tried using a few different books that I borrowed from the library and a booklet I bought, but I just couldn't understand it. Then, I bought Stitch-n-Bitch after someone online recommended it to me, and I've been knitting ever since. The diagrams and text just made so much more sense to me than any of the other books. But, if you know of someone a class you can take or someone that can teach you, I'd recommend going in that direction.

Good luck!

I would join a tubey KAL after the first of the year, I've got too much going on until then. And, I'm going to make Kate for my youngest daughter's 3rd birthday (Jan. 8!).

Those are awesome! Great job.

those are soooooooo cooool. i want them, though i don't know what i'd do with them...
hang them on the christmas tree?

Actually, I think hanging them on a christmas tree is a pretty neat idea. Imagine a tree all decorated in vegetables (fake ones, of course) with something like a head of cabbage in place of a star. I could definitely see myself doing that in the future. Of course, I am a little on the strange side...

If it isn't too much trouble, I'd like to ask for one, too. My little girls love cats. briehasissues@yahoo.com

Great job! I really like the last one. I've been crocheting scarves lately, too. My daughter is on a scarf kick. She thinks she has to have one to match every outfit she has (she's only 6!).
