1  CANADA / Ontario / Jolee's Mini T-Shirts in Ottawa? on: February 02, 2007 07:00:24 AM
Does anyone know where I can get Jolee's Mini T-Shirts (for scrapbooking) in Ottawa?  IN Ontario?
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Pullips, Blythe, BJD etc - what size? on: January 28, 2007 01:05:13 PM
Hi I am new to the doll scene.  I just got a copy of Haute Doll the other day and I am confused as to the size of different dolls.  There are 16", 11 1/2" and 1/6.  What is the 1/6 and can anyone tell me what Pullip and Dal are, and as to what size fashions they will fit?  I would hate to go on an ordering spree then have nothing fit properly.
Thanks for any help!!!

BTW - has anyone else noticed the decline of Barbie/Fashion Doll clothing in toy stores?   I have been to a bunch of toy stores and department stores as of late and hardly any of them stock just the fashions anymore, sad really.
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / crocheted beads/bead cozy ? on: November 04, 2006 06:50:44 PM
I am new to the world of crochet and can follow a pattern but I am no good at winging anything yet.  Can anyone talk me through covering a large bead in crochet?  All the jewellery stores have got them and if I can crochet why should I buy them?  Or if any one has a link to a pattern or a place to buy a pattern that would be great.

And wanted to give a general THANK YOU to all the lovely craftsters that have so generously and patiently posted tutorials for everyone!
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / What Not to Knit/Crochet site on: September 01, 2006 06:48:54 PM
I just found these two sites today (along with You Knit What?)  and I was just wondering if anyone else had been to these sites and what you thought.  I can't say I really liked either site because sometimes the entries were really just plain mean.  I mean yes there are some not so "beautiful?!?!" crocheted and knitted things out there but wouldn't just a picture be necessary?
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Chihuha-hewie-huhuhu SMALL DOG Pattern!!! on: July 25, 2006 04:25:52 PM

6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Sweater Shaver? on: July 24, 2006 02:41:35 PM
Remember sweater shavers?  I was going through all my woolies and realized how despeartely they are in need of some TLC.  Has anyone seen a sweater shaver recently - as in where would I go to get one?  (other than those really nice ones on ebay for $1 then $20 shipping)
7  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / winged heart stencil? on: July 02, 2006 07:49:51 AM
I have been trying to find a specific winged heart stencil - I just can't remember where I originally saw it - the heart is kinda "punky" and it just a black and white pic - I tried google searches but I am beginning to think it is hopeless
8  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Artwork from University on: May 07, 2006 06:53:32 AM
Just thought I would post a couple pics of some of the textile/fabric work I did in my final year.  They may not be outstanding but I like them.

StraightJacketSweat er

SecurityBlanketSkir t (made out of a baby blanket)

Undone (I don't think it can be seen too well but the inside is fraying and loose wool threads)

My theme was about "dealing with the idea or aspects of personal burden as expressed through apparel"
9  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Ruined Hoody/Hoodie on: May 04, 2006 03:38:07 PM
Heres a tip:  DO NOT USE SHOUT DUAL ACTION STAIN REMOVER!!!  Even if you follow the directions the agents aren't guaranteed to mix properly and this could happen to you!!!

So I Shout treated my beloved khaki green long Garage hoodie......

and now its covered on one side and the back with orangey "the dye has been removed" spots and streaks.  Huh Embarrassed Sad Undecided Cry

And ideas what I should do with it (other than the hate mail to the makers of the product....maybe I'll get a coupon....)?
Will try to post a pic after it dries.
10  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Revamped Easter Bunny on: May 04, 2006 03:22:26 PM
SO I invited my friend from outta the country to spend Easter with my husband and I and his family.  And I knew he and I would get chocolate so....knowing she is picky about her chocolate I decided to make her a stuffed bunny. But I was low on time so I bought a thrift store bunny and revamped her to suit my friend.

She has a velvet circle skirt with lace edge, tulle underneath.  A bright pink felt tube top, with flower button.  And she is accessorized with a scarf, ear ribbon, pearl bracelet and pearl captive bead earring.

(thanks to SarahFroggy for her help and inspiration too lol)
