21  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: rose tree sculpture on: March 17, 2006 05:18:40 PM
Nice. It is a pitty that the arms drooped, but i wouldnt have noticed if you hadnt pointed it out.
The way the branches are now is actually how I had them to begin with...in the oven they had drooped to the ground!

That's way cool.  I think the branches look just fine, and actually has more characted than if they were "normally positioned", you know?
Makes me think of a storybook.
Thanks!  The way the pics are is the way I wanted the tree to be, the branches had actually drooped all the way to the ground in the oven.  Eek!  I like to think of it as a storybook tree...and the eggs belong to a phoenix or a roc or a gryphon or something...Wink

That is absolutely gorgeous!  I can't believe how much detail you were able to put into something that tiny-- and the robin eggs are just wonderful.  *clicks the this rocks button*

Thank you so much!  I'm glad you like it!

That's gorgeous! Did you participate in the tree swap?

Thank you!  Unfortunately, I didn't do the tree swap.  I wish that I had, because I really love trees!  I actually haven't done a single swap yet.  :x

Great job!!! And its so tiny...WOW! Definitly worth clicking the "this rocks" button!!!

Wow thanks!  Cheesy

I worship you.

Haha, thank you.

I made this yesterday.  Didn't quite know what category it fit it, so misc it is!

I made the tree, nest, and eggs from white sculpy.  Unfortunately the branches drooped in the oven, so I had to break them off and reattach at different angles with wire and superglue.  I stuck my fingers together a lot!!  The flowers were some little silk flowers with wire stems that I wrapped around the branches and also glued.  The whole thing was painted with acrylics.  I really like it!  It's sitting out on the bookshelf in the living room now, and goes very nicely sitting next to a cross stitch of a peacock that I did  (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=74998).
29  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: peacock cross stitch on: January 25, 2006 03:06:21 PM
Thanks for all the kind words everyone!

I was planning on framing this and hanging it on my wall, but it's being difficult.  I bought a frame, mat, and mounting board from Michael's today...the inner mat obscures part of the cross-stitch, so I can only use the outer mat.  Bummer, because the inner mat provided a nice little punch of color.  Plus, both the mat and the mounting board are like a millionth of an inch too big to fit into the frame.  And I don't have an exacto knife.  And the damn Michael's is a half hour away.  Sad  Booooooo.

Once I actually manage to frame this thing I'll take another picture.  Smiley

I love the rabbit in the moon legend!  I actually have a cell phone case that I bought at a Japanese department store that has a bunny with moon and stars embroidered on it.  Your take on it is very cute.  Smiley

The rabbit legend is very touching.  The bottom of this page tells the story:
