21  Recon: Pants to Messanger bag of sorts IMG heavy in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by deceptive.fragileness on: August 17, 2006 11:08:30 PM
So my husband had these KIK wear pants that he *adored* from when he was younger, but they were all beat to heck, torn, grease stains, the whole works. Well, since he wanted me to make him a bag for him to put his PS2 in  Roll Eyes I turned those pants, a pair of his boxers, and one of his shirts into this.

The front

The back

Inside back

Logo piece on the connecting deal.

An "I am loved/Soy amada/Ich bien something" pin on the strap where it connects- this is a loop because he's got keys and tons and tons of wires he can hook on here.

An inside pocket that was a mini pocket in his pants

A belt loop + logo for keys and crap

Inside the front flap and front inside- it's made of two big side pockets.

My husband ohh soo handsomely modeling it.

I hand stitched the whole thing while I was pregnant... It took me months because I'd forget what I had been doing and stitch it together backwards or sew together wrong parts  Roll Eyes I did it this way because he wanted it to look "punk" and the pants were "punk" according to him. *shrugs* It's supposed to look DIY

You inspired me to make one too.. I used black cordory for the outside, and dalmation print for the lining so I  can use it for work.

So I got my camera back, and here is a picture of the lonely two that I have left:

They're the crumpled kind. When I get a chance though, I'm going to make more, because they're so cool to use to send letters in, and I write lots of letters Lucky for me, I have *TONS* of tissue paper from my baby showers. Everyone thought I was weird for saving the tissue and wrapping paper.

I'm going to try these with wrapping paper btw, I'll let you know how they turn out.
