1  COOKING / Dessert / Re: St. Patty's Day Cookies on: March 16, 2011 12:23:59 PM
Love the rainbow ones!
2  COOKING / Dessert / Bulldozer Birthday Cake (or Loader, whatever) on: April 21, 2010 01:43:39 PM
For my son's second birthday, I decided to make him a bulldozer cake (okay, actually it's a loader, but the kid is two and he doesn't always understand the difference).  I was super, super happy with the way this turned out!  It's only the second decorated cake I've ever made (the first was a train for his first birthday).  It's all edible, right down to the "dirt."   Grin  The hardest part for me to figure out was the track, and as you can see we ended up going with Hershey's bars.  It's a plain vanilla cake mix with regular decorator's frosting (my mom's recipe that she's been using since I was little).
C & C welcome!

What material did you use for the waterproofing?  I'd love to make my own nursing pads!

Wow, I love it!  I'm pregnant with #2 now, and all we know is that we are having either a boy or a girl. LOL  Pretty sure I won't have the energy to do this once the new one is here, but I'll be keeping this in mind!!  You did a fantastic job!

Thanks, everyone!  I did the Oscar towel first since he's the character my son least cares about (just in case it ended badly, you know?).  He's my favorite, too!  Wink  And actually, I didn't know RebelBaby even knew Oscar's name until he saw the towel and started saying it!
7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Molecule Necklaces! (image intense) on: December 23, 2009 08:36:08 AM
Those are so nice, your friends will love them!  I wish I'd thought of doing that for my sister this year!

Hi, All,
I'm very new to posting projects but I've been a long-time lurker.   Grin  For Christmas I wanted to craft something special for my son.
I found these ultra soft blankets at Big Conglomerate Discount Store on Black Friday for $4 each.  I only used half the blanket, so I can still make blankets or towels out of the other half.  Then I appliqued the faces on.  It's the first time I've ever done an applique project and I thought it was tons of fun!  I was so happy with the way these came out! RebelBaby caught a glimpse and immediately started shouting character names, so I'm pretty sure they'll be a hit.
I present to you, Sesame Street Poncho Towels!

What a perfectly adorable little animal!  Plus, he can continue to wear the hat on cold winter days!  Grin
