you're not doing a yo (yarn over), which is what this extra loop over the needle sounds like...

I really like this pattern. I made one but it looks terrible on me. So I ripped it out.

I don't know if you can still get the Ribbon Twist booklets. I cherish mine. I also made...Willow and the poncho and the other hat. I covet Erin tho.

Very nice. I'm a fan of her stuff. Altho some times I see repeat patterns. Ie/ Nightshade is similar to one in the Ribbon Twist collection. I will have to see if I can buy this one locally.

I see you are nearing completion! YAY. i'm still working on my front... I slowed down because I had to go to physio for the tendonitis. EEP. I may get more done this weekend b/c I have some ferry rides that i'll need to stay busy on.

As for ravelry its neat because its like this huge database of knitting. You can search patterns and see what people have subbed in or the colors they chose to see how it will look without the guessing. Once it goes public you'll see just how useful it can be. I wouldn't worry about not being on it yet...the time will arrive when you will be able to access it.

I actually woke up the next day and ripped her out. if  it wasn't a long weekend I would have left it...so we were on the same page for a bit there Smiley score one for Vague knitting!

I can't tell if the ravelry peoples did this...there are 4 sweaters in progress on there.

By selling online, I mean selling pattern downloads like Lion Brand and other companies do. You still have to have a paper product, which IMO is not good for the environment, because of all of the fuel that needs to be spent transporting magazines and the paper. I am not saying completely do away with paper magazines, but having online downloads would be good for the environment and help people who dont live in the states and dont want to pay the exorbitant shipping costs for shipping magazines overseas.

I totally support this idea. I think that we consume toooooo much and printing a whole magazine is really out dated. To be honest, I think twice if I can't buy it electronically. I have not bought alot of patterns for this exact reasons when I can buy an electronic copy of one somewhere else on the net.

I work for a major environmental company based out of the US. And I can't believe that people think we have time left when it comes to the environment. WE DON"T.

Printing a single electronic copy is not pirating if I paid for it. Think about it: If I pay $5 US dollars for a single pattern versus $8CDN for a whole magazine...aren't you going to make MORE MONEY off single pattern purchase PLUS do the right thing for the environment?

YUP

sorry for the thread jack. I must say I just discovered jared this weekend. He is very talented Smiley
