3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Ramona Peep doll emergency! on: February 05, 2006 11:23:47 AM
I am crocheting a Ramona Peep doll for seaofstars, and I have hit a massive problem.

Everything is crocheting beautifully.  The head, body, arms, and legs are done, and all that is left is the hair, dress, and shoes.

Problem is, I can't figure out how on earth to attach each piece. It says to use the tail to sew them together, but how?

I am about in tears, because this is so frustrating.  I really wanted to send it out this week, but I can't figure out how to finish it.

Please help!
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Easiest stitch for scarf on: December 14, 2005 06:31:56 PM
I am trying to make a scarf for my sister for Christmas, but I'm running out of time and patience.  I'm using a simple worsted weight. What stitch would be fast and pretty?  Doing the whole thing in sc would take forever, but I'm not sure if I could do treble or even double crochet.  Any ideas?
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / tips for fun fur? on: December 14, 2005 10:41:53 AM
I have a great new skein of fun fur yarn, and I have found a pattern for it that only requires a fairly simple HDC.  However, I cannot for the life of me see the appropriate stitches.  Everything looks the same because of the fuzzy pieces on the yarn. How do you crochet with this stuff?
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / What brand of yarn is the softest and most economical? on: December 03, 2005 08:51:45 AM
I want to start working on an hourglass sweater, and perhaps some arm warmers, as it is so cold here and I don't have a lot of winter clothes.  Does anyone have a recommendation for the softest (yet economical) yarn around? If I can get it online, that's great.  I am a texture freak, and can't handle things that feel really scratchy.
7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / RENT on: November 29, 2005 09:03:18 AM
I'm new here, so I doubt that I have the seniority or the know-how to set up a swap, but I think that RENT would make an awesome theme.  I loovvvvvvvveeeeeeee ed the movie, and the play is fabulous, too.  We could get it going in February or so, to miss midterms and holidays, and give everyone a chance to really get some great ideas going.  It's such a visually rich movie and inspiration could range from Bohemia to New York to AIDS to just about anything!  Who's with me?
