Hola Craftsters! Check out the henna I did last night.
I'm fairly proud of this.. it's been a LONG time since I've done henna, I could see myself getting back into it.
What do you think? Thanks for looking! Edit:
Here's some more info on my henna process:
I used 2009 Jamilia henna ordered from Mehandi.com. I mixed the henna powder with lemon juice and a tiny bit of honey. After letting it rest in a covered bowl overnight, I add naiouli and cardamom essential oils (a.k.a. "terps") and let it rest another 8 hours. Terps help to improve the stain of henna.
As for the actual design process, well, there really isn't much of one!
I learned some of the basic elements of henna design here: http://www.hennapage.com/henna/what/lineart/index.html
I try to find different ways to use these elements and just sort of let the design flow.
The stain turned out lovely considering the location on my body, unfortunately I don't have a paste-off picture.
