1  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: New Online BOM...and its free ! on: January 17, 2006 05:39:12 PM
Well, here it is, my first ever completed block of a first ever BOM.  It was pretty easy, lots of good tricks to get the piecing done.  The directions were clear and easy to follow.  The completed block is 15 1/2" square.  Can't wait for next months!
Try it...you might like it :-)

wow...you must have esp !!  Just today I was thinking about whether or not you finished yours.  I too had to put these on the back burner, but now ready to start up again.  I'm working on the second sole of the first slipper.  I'll take before and after pics too !  Smiley

3  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / New Online BOM...and its free ! on: January 15, 2006 06:03:11 PM
There is a new Block of the Month starting today.  Each pattern is online from the 15th to the 15th.  This is from the great quilt designer Beth Ferrier.  She gave an outstanding lecture at our guild meeting this week.  Be forwarned though...once you look at the quilt, you will be hooked and have to go out and buy fabric immediately....keep all small children out of your path !

There is also a yahoo group for this BOM so you can get all the support you might need.  Beth says this is for the confident beginner, you can cut straight with a rotery and you can sew a striaght line (her definition)

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Felted Clogs help? on: January 05, 2006 08:35:08 AM
I ended up with a few extra stitches here and there, but mostly it worked out.  I think when you felt them...or full them you won't even know there was a mistake.  I have to go get a new yarn needle...those things vanish so fast !  Good luck on getting yours done, I'm sure she will love them.  Post pics before you give them away Smiley

Yeaaa...did it !  Thank you so much for your clarification !  When you mentioned 3 needle bind-off I went to knittinghelp.com and watched the video.  I love that site.  Thanks again for your help.  How are your clogs coming along?
