Oh!  I probably saw you!  I was counting how many girls walked up the sidewalk when we were standing there, lol!

Marshall...is that his name?  If so, he is THE sweetest guy!  Everyone was so nice, the CPD, Marshall, even the cab drivers... everyone kept apologizing & was so helpful.

Marshall is the best. I've known him forever. He used to run his printing company out of the basement of the website office I worked out of. I love going to DEPART-ment, as it gives me a chance to catch up with him.

Sadly, I've been mugged twice. I used to live in some sketchy 'hoods when I was a young turk. Most are just smash and grabs, but once I had a gun held to my head. So, I can empathize. Sorry again.

CASEY! I didn't know you were standing there until I saw the picture on here!! Please get with me girl - I wanted to know if you are doing Renegade's Holiday show. Hit me back yo!

Hey! I was walking up to DEPART-ment to work my shift when you guys were taking that picture with the cop. I didn't know what was going on, so I asked Marshall, and he said someone got mugged. I was late, so I hurried upstairs. Not a very nice "welcome to Chicago", eh? Sorry about that!

I'm a glass artist, I do lampworking, mainly. But, for this show, I decided to play to the market. I made stained glass pendants, gel transfers, leather wrist cuffs, cell phone charms, etc. Most of my regular work is too expensive for folks at a music festival to consider, so I think my strategy worked out well.

I wish there were more affordable outlets to sell my work at. I simply cannot afford the table fees at most of the craft fairs. When I was in London, I went to Camden and a few other "market" areas. I was so inspired by the "boot" sales, I really wanted to try and do something like that here. You pull up your car to a lot or field and open your trunk and sell out of there. So clever, no table rental, easy clean up. Sadly, the city fees would probably be exhorbitant to rent a parking lot for this sort of event.

The site below carries a variety of pendant settings including bezel type in all sorts of finishes.  They have a wonderful variety of other findings too.  Just dont get caught up in all the choices  Wink

Good Luck!

This place has a ton of cool stuff. But, they have no price list available? That's weird.

Pitchfork DEPART-ment was awesome for me. That was by-far the best I've ever done at a DEPART-ment. I would have stayed there the whole weekend and sold stuff, if only it hadn't been so hot!

Here's a new one, going to live with my Mother for Christmas. It is surrounded by some beads that I made, but they aren't part of this project, they just looked good together for composition sake! This is a sterling silver double sided bezel, it has been cut to fit the size of the pendant, then shaped and soldered and pickled, then polished and set. The front of the pendant is embellished with flat back swarovski crystals.

I'm blushing!
Thank you!
Yes, Le Coquette went to live in Madrid, Spain. She's so internacianale!
I love making these and have taken it to a new level with double sided bezel settings for the extra special collages. The bezel setting is not "craft" priced, so those are the higher end pieces. All flat back crystals are applied by hand and all are Swarovski crystal. Nothing sparkles like the good stuff!
I just sold another one at a family gathering yesterday. I feel a bit "dirty" doing business at a holiday gathering, ha ha - um, not.  Wink
