1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Skull Tuque *Updated-Chart* on: August 29, 2007 01:55:40 PM
I had a special request from a friend for a funky skull winter hat so I whipped this up for them.

Based on Pattern: We Call Them Pirates - http://www.helloyarn.com/wecallthempirates.htm

Needles: size 5 mm 24" circular needles and dpns

Yarn: 1 skein merino wool, 1 skein samoyed/merino blend

Here's how it turned out:

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Cabled Ankle Socks on: August 10, 2007 10:42:43 AM
Lately, I've become obsessed with knitting socks!  I don't know what it is about them but they just have this allure....that and my husband loves wearing them so I'm keeping him well supplied.  Cheesy
This is the latest pair that I've made and I'm really happy with how they turned out.

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Andean Earflap Hat (pic heavy) on: August 03, 2007 03:43:59 PM
I'd fallen in love with this hat as soon as I picked up Charlene Schurch's "Hats On!" book but didn't have the right size needles for the job.  I've modified the pattern so that it works on my 5mm circular and dpns. The earflap portion in the same but I've cut back on the number of stitches in each round, the number of rounds, and changed the crown of the cap.   Here's how it turned out (pardon the crazy hair):

4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Mushroom Ear Flap Hat on: August 02, 2007 06:25:38 AM
The weather has been really strange here lately...it just kind of feels like fall and has gotten me into the mood to make come cozy stuff! I love this new hat....makes me feel like a pixie when I put it on!

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Punk-ish Tee Reconstruction (Cursing) on: November 27, 2006 08:54:25 AM
This is my first attempt at reconstruction.  I've had this t-shirt for quite a while but it's really big so I deceided to fix it up a bit.
Here are the before pics:

After:
I cut 5" off each side of the shirt and used an old pair of spiderweb tights for the sleeves.

I've been a lurker here for a few months and I'm always amazed with the creations posted here.  Cheers to all you awsome knitters!

I recently picked up a copy of Carlene Schurch's "Hats On!" and have started working my way through her beautiful hat patterns.  My first two projects from the book are the Triple Pattern Watch-Cap and the Tassled Fez.  Here's how they turned out:

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Sunny Delight Skirt on: May 23, 2006 06:03:24 PM
I've been making a few summery things now that the weather is nice....hopefully get a few other creations finished up in a couple of days.
I finished this little puppy up a while ago but haven't gotten around to posting it.
It has an adjustable waist so that it will fit a range of sizes.
