1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Nail Acrylic pendant and ring on: September 19, 2008 12:58:09 AM
these are beautiful!!!

i was wondering tho... as a person with no acrylic nail supplies. (and not wanting to invest too much into it because i'm far too ADD to stick at anything) is it possible to sculpt some things in white and paint them in acrylic?

thanks for sharing this with us!

thank you for that, i'll go check it out.

I remember a few years ago, when i used to live in hamilton, the odd church used to have garage sale days where they have $1 fill a plastic bag with clothes.

i miss those days...

so recently, I've been itching to do some recon clothes from older, uglier things to prettier, cutie cutie stuff i may actually wear, however, having just moved and throwing out tonnes of my own old clothes (which i'm now kicking myself for) i would like to know if there are any really really cheap places to get articles of clothing, they don't have to be brilliant items since they are going to be cut up anyway.

anyone one know of any places?

preferably in Auckland

thanks!

hey guys:

just to bring this thread back up.

anyonw had any luck getting clear cast resin? (the 1:1 epoxy type that no one can ever mess up)

I've seen all this beautiful resin work and have been wanting to craft some myself.

I live in auckland so I suppose i have most stores around me

any help is greatly appreciated

i'm keen to find out about this too.

there was a place in hamilton where you fill a plastic bag for $1, then the price went up to $3 and not $5 i think, but still... a supermarket plastic bag of clothes for $5 that you can hack up is pretty cool. I wonder if there is anything like that in auckland.

are you looking for painted wooden ones or cute plastic ones?

if you live in auckland, there is a $3 japanese shop on queen st that sells cute school kid bento boxes...(at $3 each which is fun, compact and it packs enough food for an adult who don't have a huge lunch)

if you're looking for the traditional bento boxes (which don't have very tight lids and will spill food in your bag) made out of wood that's high gloss finished (like those used in japanese cafes and so on) they are available at "jmart" on anzac ave in auckland central.

i realise this reply is late, but i hope its helpful Smiley

wow, this thread sure has grown a lot.

having an online store on etsy doesn't require a lot of business experience to begin with, and you always learn as you go.

if you don't start gathering experience, you'll never have any Smiley

good luck!
