1  FIBER ARTS / Weaving: Discussion and Questions / Ending it on: August 31, 2008 01:55:48 PM
How do you all tie off your weaving projects?  Do you just tie the ends and that is it?  That is what I am doing and I think it looks fine, but I'm wondering if that is a weaver's no no!

thanks!
2  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: What do you guys do while you spin? on: August 20, 2007 04:57:59 PM
This is interesting!  When I worked from home I watched movies mostly or listened to the radio.  Now I work out of a studio and I listen to audiobooks.  I love it!  I feel like its doubly time efficient and maybe even triple b/c I work at the library in the kids section and only listen to youth or YA audiobooks to help keep up on things!

gosh, maybe I've been doing it all wrong!  I have spun it just like regular roving, it just takes more patience!  I've never wet it either.

first of all, vinegar isn't really a mordant

Can I ask what vinegar is considered?  I think I always say its the mordant.  Maybe I'm confused as to what a mordant is!  Thanks Bon!

7  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: Photographing yarns on: May 12, 2007 05:23:43 PM
Its all about macro and natural light.

My Fuji Finepix 7.0 was $185 and I think I take a damn good yarn picture.  Really, no need to spend $300!
