1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: The World Appreciation Swap Gallery! on: May 13, 2006 06:48:07 AM
Uh oh.  I hope that doesn't happen with mine... I sent it in a manila envelope, and it did look kinda sketchy...

In other news, I have received my package from kristie b!  I unfortunately do not have a camera, so I cannot post pics.  Sad

I've been drooling over this dress:

And I think I'm going to try to make it when I get home (from college, in may).   Looks like just simple cotton, and I certainly have enough of that! That is.. unless I actually succeeded in using it all when I made that last quilt... but either way, I'm gunna try it Smiley

And my dream is that I have enough time to make this one too:

But I'm leaving the country in July, so... unlikely.

I love anthropologie's clothes soooooooooo much!

Wow, these are really good ideas!  Thank you so much!

This is so incredibly obvious, but I didn't even think of that.  I want to get something for my advisor, who has helped me so incredibly much, but she's so smart and cool, that I've just been trying to figure out something intellectual to give her.  Duh, she teaches for a reason.

So, my best (guy) friend is going to backpack south america next year, starting in around october.   I'm going to see him for the last time before that in June, for his birthday, and I want to give him something to take with him and help him when he's backpacking.  I'm already planning on getting him some guidebooks, he's got a journal, and he speaks fluent spanish, so I really want to make (or get) something specific to *backpacking* in south america.   Any ideas?
And don't say "a backpack"  Wink

It's so pretty!  I would actually say to just wear a tank top under it, and let it fall/expose you as it wants. I think it's perfect as is.  But if you want to be sans undergarments, I'd sew up the sides and front a bit.  You might not even need to dart it if you sew the sides up right, because the fabric hanging will look fine.
Nice job Smiley  But I agree, it's too much boob-showing at the moment!

Oh man.  I'm in the midst of a big swap, and between that and my thesis, I can't let myself do this.  Cry
Hopefully there'll be a round 2.  And a good gallery.

That bag is absolutely gorgeous! Beautiful job!

The first and fourth are my favorites.  I'd pay 15 for either, because anything more and I'd be like "bah! I could make that for less!"  Because I'm a craftster, and I *could* make it if I really wanted to. Roll Eyes
However, my first thought was "OMG! 40$!" So, depending on materials used and crafty/cheapskate value of the customers, I'd say anywhere between 15 and 40.  Don't sell them for under 15, though, cause those are ridiculously beautiful, and anything less would be insulting your work.
I think this is the most militant post I've ever written.  Sorry bout that...
