11  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: Lots of mini food jewellery + accessories on: July 25, 2010 10:17:17 PM
Hey guys, i'm so sorry i've been overseas so I haven't replied to any posts anyway. I have heaps of catching up to do.

This all looks so Yummy!  Shocked and so realistic. Amazing job! I could only hope to be this good with polymer in the future.
Thank you so much Smiley. It just takes lots of practice, patience and unfortunately, wasting clay Smiley.

OMG They are so cute!!! I actually thought they were real!
Hehe thank you, the ultimate compliment for someone who tries to make their food realistic!

Oh my goodness! You've created so much awesome, delicious-looking cuteness! I've had a bunch of polymer hiding in my craft cupboard but I've been too intimidated to use it yet. You've totally inspired me to give it a shot - it'd be totally worth the risk of screwing it up to get incredible miniatures like yours!
Thank you very much! You absolutely should try, you should see my failures collection, the ratio of failed attempts to pretty things is about 10:1!

it looks super real, really yummy!
Thank you very much Smiley. They wouldn't taste very good though.

these are soo adorable.. they look so real!

Thank you very, very much!

you're very good at painting them so realistically Smiley

Thank you so much! The reality is very little painting was required making these... trust me, if this craft required painting i'd only be able to come out with lumps of clay!

Thank you, this is was actually my first tute ever and i've come such a long way in writing and photographing for tutes that this one makes me cringe haha! But i'm glad you like it Smiley.

wow how yummy!!  Smiley

Thank you Smiley.

wow!! so real looking! would you mind posting a tute for how you mixed the clay to get those great textures? iv'e been experimenting but i have not been successful!

Thank you very much Smiley. I'm sorry for the late reply. I'm not sure what you mean by textures though... cookie texture you get by pressing a toothbrush, cake sponge texture you get by painstakingly poking the clay with a needle. I'm sorry, i'll probably be more helpful if you could be a little more specific, i'm not very sure what you're asking me to do... i'm sorry! But i'll be happy to help if you could ask me something more specific Smiley.

Sorry everyone, i've been a bit busy with life these days, but thank you so much for your comments!

very cute!

Thank you Smiley

I'm not sure if these make me want to pull out my polyclay or my baking dishes...maybe both!

Hehehe well you could always bake your polymer clay on a baking dish... although it's not nearly as satisfying and actually being able to eat your work later hehe.

These are so very cute!

Thank you Smiley.

Cute! Cheesy

Thank you!

They look so real!! How big are they, and how did you make the whipped cream look like that??

They tarts are about the size of a quarter, everything else a bit bigger. And I use acrylic modelling paste for my whipped cream, just pipe it on like real cream Smiley.

Wow, these are so neat! I love mini foods, and have gotten into them recently because I'm in the process of making a dollhouse. How do you get the texture on your breads? Is that the toothbrush trick? They look really great!

Thank you very much! And yeah it's by a hard-bristled toothbrush Smiley.

I never even THOUGHT of that!!!  It's pure white Sculpey so I think it will work, I'm def. going to try it!  Thanks so much Cheesy Cheesy  I did pick up some colored Sculpey, it was mispriced at 7.99 instead of 17.99 so I couldn't resist!  Cheesy

Hehe that's ok! And congrats on the great find, I love cheap stuff Smiley.
