1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Captive Bead Chainmail Ring on: March 06, 2007 08:57:26 PM
That is lovely! I've never done chainmail but now I have to try.  Was the ring very difficult to do?

It was pretty easy.  I'd say it took less than 20 minutes to make, including the time it took to figure out how to close the cage part.  All I did was make a chain, curl it up, and then add a few rings on the back to hold the bead in.

Thank you to everyone for your comments.  I'm still rather proud of this 2am half asleep creation.  Grin

This is the first creative piece of chainmail that I've done since the Grover inlay.

Started out as an experiment with helm chain, and then evolved into this little oddity. It has a hematite bead contained within the helm chain which I closed up, and some plain 4in1 for the band. It's pretty chunky, and the cage part is about a half inch in height. I'll probably try it with some smaller rings next time.

3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Grover Inlay made of chainmail on: January 30, 2007 10:34:18 PM
Finally finished this after months of laziness...  It's a freehand Grover inlay made out of chainmail.  Bright and anodized aluminum. Basic 4in1 hung the "wrong way" to make it hang nicely.

Finally got around to finishing the necklace.  Again, very simple, but festive. Smiley

Thanks for all the positive feedback.

I have a matching choker in the works.  Hopefully I'll get it done before Halloween.  Cheesy

those are so cute, even if i dont like candy corn...i love the colors of the chains, great job =)

Anodized Aluminum. Gotta love it!

I think those are the LEAST cheesy Halloween-themed earings I've ever seen!

Hehe, thanks.  I like how simple they are.  Reminds me of what Halloween was like when I was a kid.  When you are young, Halloween is all full of goofy fun and candy.  As you get older, everyone just wants to make it as gorey and bloody as possible.

Thanks.  Grin

I'd probably wear them too if I had my ears pierced...  Heh, I keep debating on whether to go do that or not so I can actually wear the earrings that I make.

Made these for a Halloween theme that the Metalweaversgroup has going on.

I think they turned out pretty cute in that cheesy Halloween type of way. Smiley
