1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Baby leg warmers on: February 23, 2006 09:48:33 AM
I knit them in the round with DPNs. I used a DK weight yarn and a size 6 needle and cast on 24 stitches for a (small) 12 month old baby. I'd recommend binding off with a larger needle, since the CO and BO edges are pretty snug.
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Baby leg warmers on: February 23, 2006 09:21:43 AM

Inspired by a friend who did the same, I whipped up these lil' leg warmers for my little one to eliminate the gap between her socks and her pant legs that forms when she sits in the stroller. Very easy, just plain old K2, P2 rib.
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: 'Kate' from Winter Knitty! on: January 20, 2006 10:13:29 AM

My little Katie was feeling left out, so here she is. She's knit out of Cascade 220.

Allow for one extra stitch in the main colour at the edges before and after you start with the chart. Then it should work out just fine.

Happy fair isle-ing! I just finished my sleeves and am about to join them to the bod!

Love it! It's nice for babies to have short sleeved sweaters too! And I love the heart on the back too.

There's a cool pirate sweater in Zoe Mellor's Adorable Knits For Tots as well, which I'm planning to do in black and hot pink for my little one. It's not nearly as rock 'n' roll as yours though -- in the book, the skull is smiling. Smiling!
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: cute littel knit pants for my fat baby on: January 16, 2006 11:27:57 AM
I love the diaper cover! Good one. And I love your chubby little babe! My baby is freakishly skinny and there's no way she'd be able to keep a pair of knit pants up.
8  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: Marsupial SnB tote on: January 11, 2006 06:34:52 AM
When I made this tote a couple years ago (it was my first felting project) I found that the handles totally needed to be felted again. The shape was a little weird, plus they got a little stretched out and droopy because I went for a pretty light felting the first time around. Now they're great and I'm still using the tote to store my knitting in.

I love your colour choices, by the way.
9  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: Hello Kitty modified Kittyville Hat. on: January 08, 2006 01:51:07 PM
Adorable! I've made the hat according to pattern and loved it, but like yours even better. Mayhaps I'll make one for my baby daughter (and if I really feel like dorking out, a bigger one for myself).

Anyway, great idea, it looks lovely on you.

Oh, you did such a good job! I hope my little one stays girly and I can make her one when she gets a little bit older.
