1  Baking Fimo Clay (Urgent!) in Discussion and Questions by lemohm on: February 25, 2006 12:17:38 AM
Last time I baked a sculpture I made of fimo it burned and took a horrible brown colour even though I followed the instructions in the package (30 min, 130C/265F).
I am going to bake it in a couple of hours so if you could please help me as soon as you can I would really appreciate it. Should I leave it less time or maybe less temperature or both?
Also there are parts which are thick and other that are very thin so I am really worried the thin parts will burn or maybe the thick ones won't bake enough.

This is what I am working on, the eyelids are very thin because I will later drill holes for the eyes and I don't want that part turning brown, any suggestions?

Oh and an other question, how the hell do you manage to keep the clay clean? Mine keeps getting dirty with dust while I am working on it. I don't think even if I sculpted inside a sterilized bubble I would be able to keep it clean.

2  Re: Pirate Swap- Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by lemohm on: February 10, 2006 11:37:15 AM
Here are the pictures I took of what I sent to Psyche.

A chest, I lined with fabric (which i don't have the slightest idea what the name is in English) and perfumed it a little.
Here is a picture with the chest closed http://img437.imageshack.us/my.php?image=paste97ax.jpg

Dance the Hempen Jig cd

Key earrings.
I don't really know very much about earrings since I don't wear any so I really hope they aren't too heavy!

A message in a bottle.

Which is actually a stamp.
(The actually stamp is on the other side of the cork, which is the same but mirrored, this is only for decoration.)

A little metal box I found in a flea market, filled with corks so she can make her own stamps.

And a log book.
You can find more pictures here http://community.livejournal.com/handmadebooks/341933.html#cutid1

That's it. Sorry for the big pictures.
By the way, viciouskittie I am in love with your message in a bottle charm!
Miss Violaceous, so many things and it's only the first package! Wow.

3  Re: Monkey Island themed Swap in New Swap Theme Ideas by lemohm on: January 31, 2006 12:47:03 AM
It is basically the best video game series ever.
Where you play Guybrush Threepwood to become a mighty pirate in point and click style.

I am so glad I caught this swap on time, I just sent my info to join.
I grew up with pirates, so this is such a perfect theme for me.
PS (Pirates kick so much more ass that Ninjas.)

Oh by the way, I thought you might like to see this.
My grandfather had this awesome wood pirates and now the third one belongs to me!

6  Water, water, watercolour. in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by lemohm on: December 15, 2005 10:23:12 PM
Hello, I have been lurking around here for quite a while and I must say this is one of the best boards I have seen. Everyone is so nice.
Anyway I thought I'd introduce myself with my latest watercolours, since I don't have anything crafty to show yet.
Critiques are more than welcome.
