Hi fellow craftsters !

Every year my family hosts a Halloween party. This year, our theme was Harry Potter, which was very exciting for me, being a big HP fan. Here are some pictures of what we did. I've been working on this for the last 3 weeks and everyone (especially the kids) loved it so it was worth it! : )

Pumpkin lights, fallen leaves, an old candlestick and a Marauder’s Map that my friend brought me back from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

The sorting ceremony

We made little house badges for everyone, which would determine the teams for the other games we played. When the guest arrived, they each drew a badge from the Sorting Hat.




Harry Potter Quiz

We asked Hp trivia questions and the team that had the most points at the end won the “house cup” (my sister’s old cheerleading trophy) filled with “galleons” (chocolate-covered dollars). Fittingly, Ravenclaw won this one.




Guess the character
Guests had a character’s name stuck on their forehead and they had to guess who it was by asking yes or no questions.




(Not pictured) Potion making

We had a variety of juice and alcohol on a table and the guest could mix them up to make their own “potion”.

Oneredboot, I've been wanting to buy charmed knits for quite a while now. I asked for it for my birthday so...we never know!  

Hey Crusaders! My personal theme for this month is…POTTERMANIA! I recently went to the Harry Potter exhibit at the Toronto Science Centre and came back itching to craft something potter-related. Since my sister is now a HP fan (thanks to me!), I decided to make her a Christmas gift/package similar to the ones that Molly Weasley sends to Harry and Ron every Christmas at Hogwarts. I will even write a letter from "Molly and Arthur" explaining what is in the package and wishing her a Merry Christmas.

Here is what I plan to put in it and how I will present the gifts to her in the letter:
-A copy of Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them, which I found on amazon for like 2$. (Harry forgot this at the Burrow, would you give it back to him?)
-A bath bomb (For the prefects' bathroom!)
-Bertie Bott’s every flavor Beans and chocolate frogs (Sweets to ward off the dementors)
-A Mini House Sock Ornament (So you can show some school spirit)
-A copy of the"Daily Prophet" with her photo on it (This Death Eater looks a lot like you my dear. I do hope it’s just a coincidence!)

So far I have done the letter with some HP fonts that I found at MuggleNet, the copy of the Daily Prophet, and I’ve ordered the book off amazon. I will do the rest when I get home from college.

So, what do you guys think? Good/horrible idea? I know that my sister and I are not kids anymore, but in our hearts, I believe that we will be forever 12.
