CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Neat Idea- labels for sewn items

I really wanted to start putting labels in all my purses and makeup bags, but I wasn't about to shell out big bucks to have them woven for me, and I like all my stuff to look really professional, so...
I remembered about this iron-on transfer paper we used when I used to work at an embroidery shop. Basically, you run it through your printer with the design mirror-imaged, cut out your design, and iron it on t-shirts, pillowcases, etc. I shrunk my design down to about 1/2" by 2" or so, and ironed the little cut-outs onto 1/2" seam binding. Voila! I now have totally professional-looking labels for my purses!
If your logo doesn't fit onto seam binding, you can always use plain white woven cotton. The iron-on transfer seems to seal the edges enough that unraveling doesn't seem to be a problem, but I would satin-stitch the edges or use Fray-Check, just in case.

CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Need pricing advice for little "gifty" items

I have a craft fair coming up in the beginning of December, and I'm a big fan of selling little $10-and under things for stocking stuffers- impulse buys, ya know? Anyways, I'd like advice on some of the things I'm making---
Checkbook holders made out of gorgeous fabrics- currently about $4 Seed-beaded barrettes that sparkle like crazy- about $5 or $6 Little leather and suede flower pins with beaded centers- about $6
These things do take a while to make, but I think of it as stress relief, and besides (shhh-shhh) I work in a custom furniture store where I get leather and fabric swatches for free, so the cost of materials is minimal.
What do you think?
